I am planning on booking a flex price one way JFK-MXP for ~$600. On that price it also says upgrade to Business class for ~$50,000 Skywards. After booking flex, then upgrading with Skywards, are you able to then upgrade again with cash or miles to First?

Also worth noting, just because it gives you the miles value it costs to upgrade, it doesn't mean you'll be able to after booking. If a significant number of business class seats are already sold, they simply won't let you upgrade with miles..
Happened to me recently on a trip from DXB to Tokyo. 31,000 miles to upgrade, but as soon as I booked my Economy ticket, the upgrade switched to 'unavailable'..
Only way to gaurantee a seat is to book that seat in the first place..
