What do I do if the medication arrives warm/hot?

My medication was shipped FedEx overnight. But is was shipped on Friday, from FL to NJ, and with Deliver Weekday-Residential Delivery. I should receive it today, but I'm concerned that it's been subjected to high temps for several days. Who do I contact for a replacement if it arrives with melted cooling packs, and it's not cold?

UPDATE: I received my shipment today. It was in transit for 96 hours, from the time is was shipped until I received it. Ice Packs last for between 24 and 36 hours. Mine arrived totally melted, and not cool to the touch. Everything was warm. I don't know the temps it was exposed to during transit, I'm concerned about the efficacy, at this point.

Sometimes the Fedex tracking slip is generated on Friday and then the pharmacy holds it over the weekend for handoff to Fedex on Monday. Check if that is what happened in your case as that would mean the meds stayed on refrigeration all through the weekend.

I don't believe this it is the case with my shipment. The label was created on 6/27 at 2:16 PM, and tendered to FedEx (they picked up the order) 6/28 at 6:11 PM. I don't have much hope for this shipment being usable.

Yeah definitely shipped and moving. Once you receive it, you can also call the pharmacy if you have questions in regards to temperature. They do package it up pretty well with multiple ice packs, so see how it arrives and then you can reach out if you have any concerns.

Just checed the FedEx website because it was to be delivered today. I opend up a chat becasue the delivery window passed (it was between 8:30 AM & 12:30 PM.) It's 2PM here and the delivery won't be until tomorrow. Four days in 90 degree temps with ice packs. I don't understand why they would ship it on a Friday afternoon, knowing it would be sitting in a FedEx facility for a few days, when they could have held it to today, and shipped overnight to me.

They normally don’t so we have also reached out to our rep to find out why this one was shipped. They normally don’t ship the refrigerated medications on fridays. As soon as you get it, please reach out to the pharmacy and also me so I can escalate with them and get a replacement sent out.

Sorry this happened as the whole shipping history is strange on this one.

My medication was delivered last Friday, during a heatwave. The medication is packed in a very tight foil covered pack, insulated with ice. I was not home upon the FedEx delivery. It was left in a shaded area outside my garage door. I also called my neighbor to bring the package inside. All was well! Good luck 👍🏻

I had concerns about mine being shipped similar conditions when it was almost 100 degrees in Indiana, but my package arrived with two ice packs and they were slightly melted but my meds were still cold, positioned between the two.

You would be surprised how well those Nordic ice packs do! Mine came with 2 this time and the foil pack- not a problem for our heatwave!

It’s going to be just fine! My package traveled around for 3 days before I got it. I’m down 10 pounds in 2 weeks. It will be just as potent, don’t stress!
