Applications for identifying the object that makes a specific sound?
Please help me find an app that can identify the physical object that makes a sound in question. For example, if I let the app hear a dog barking, it should know that it's the dog barking and the physical object that is making that sound is a dog.

What are some great text resources for sound design and mixing? I have an easier time reading Kant than I do watching a 5 minute video, so most resources I see shared are mildly inaccessable :/
