And also what should we do? My dad found it in a parking lot, observed it for a while, and found out it had been there since at least yesterday
It’s a gosling! They don’t like to be alone 🥺 so best bet is to take them to a wildlife rehabbed.
Agreed. It’s its best bet for survival. They will not drink or eat due to stress. I know you want to help it. However the amount of stress and anxiety on the gosling will harm it more than help it. There are a lot of rehab places that will accept it. Don’t try to do it on your own if you don’t understand the amount of work it takes.
It's a goose. If it is a wild goose, it is probably illegal for you to keep and needs to go to a wildlife rehabilitator.
Not a duck. Definitely a goose. Likely a Canada goose
An adorable mini honker!
Gosling, look for local wildlife rehabbers to pass it onto, if you are in the usa/canada canada geese are protected by the migratory bird act, and cannot be kept/raised by people who are not licensed.
I am a wildlife rehabilitator and that is a Canada Gosling. They are hard to keep alive, especially a lone gosling. They do better with a friend. They have different needs than ducks. I'm happy to help if needed.
It's a Gooseberry.
Definitely a goose, but so cuteee
Keep it love it forever!!!
Ok ok spend at least one night with it have a slumber party and a cuddle and then definitely wildlife rehabber why because you are awesome and I would be a pushover and I would do the wrong thing cuz they're so cute and I love them so much in Canada geese are my favorite. Heavy sigh
