When are the cutaway videos in VIP filmed?

I'm assuming like most things in Dropout, VIP is pretty heavily improv'd. However, are the cutaway videos filmed before the interview or do they improv a "reaction" and then film the video after?

Sometimes I feel like they just improv a reaction but other times (like in the latest one) it seems like they have to have filmed it beforehand.

I didn't care for the first episode, should I stick it out or are they all kind of the same deal?

I liked some more than others. I really loved some and then others fell flat for me. Personally, I really enjoyed Leighanna-Jean (Isabella Roland) and Vic’s Grandma (Lisa Gilroy) whereas Denzel (Ify Nwadiwe) and Jasper/Casper (Oscar Montoya and Jiavani) didn’t feel as strong for me.

But it’s so down to preference though. I liked Princess Emily and I know that Tommy Shriggly (Zac Oyama) is a pretty beloved episode but I thought it was okay and mostly carried by Zac’s impeccable improv and timing and dragged down by his character.

To answer your question more directly, each episode has its own unique vibe set by the guest while Vic mostly remains playing the cynical straightman with a few exceptions. The guests make or break the episode really, but again, it’s hard into your preferences. I don’t think it’s possible to judge the whole show from just Princess Emily, so I’d say watch a couple more and then decide.
