I'll be driving a 900 mile trip in one day on Wednesday, not stopping in between, just banging it all out in a day. It's a 13 hour drive. I'll be packing a lunch and snacks and drinks so I don't have to stop for food at all during the trip. I'll be driving through 4 major cities, sure to get stuck in traffic a few times, considering the holiday traffic.

Anyone got tips for avoiding getting stuck in the wrong lane in gridlock, or getting in a fender bender or causing a road rage in the chaos? Also, if there is severe weather en route, how will I know to take a detour? Will law enforcement be directing traffic away from the bad weather, or will I have to stay tuned into the local AM radio stations so I can get all the weather updates?
