If you haven’t figured out yet that DoorDashing is a scam… come back to this post in 2 years. You’re Welcome.
They rely on side hustlers like myself who see it as “any money is money I didn’t have before” and then people with sketchy backgrounds who can’t find work anywhere else. Without em they’d not last. You’ll never run out of those 2 demographics especially with todays economy
Yup, and there's alot of the sketchy background dashers who don't see that they have any other option to get cash in their pockets.Â
There are some veteran dashers here that still haven't figured out it's become a scam. Or they're just in denial🤷‍♀️ For the life of me I can't understand why anyone would jump through all these hoops for a company that pays you $1-2 base pay, yet all expenses fall on the dasher. Gasoline alone is around $4 a gallon. But watch...someone will say gas is cheaper for them and they're still profitable. No...they're not. Wake up and smell the coffee people! Doordash is a scam and basically a pyramid scheme🤦‍♀️
I still make 25-30 an hour while keeping my AR above 70 so I can keep platinum and dash anytime. Literally nothing has changed for me despite all these posts about terrible orders and getting fucked over. I may get 1, 2 max of these pay < miles orders always posted here but I just decline it.
Maybe that changes eventually, but still no complaints here.
If that's what you net after costs then you're one of the few that this app actually works for. It worked well for me for a long time too, but then the markets got oversaturated with drivers, Doordash lowered base pay and basically cut all promo pay. It killed DD here for drivers. Hopefully that won't happen to you, but it has happened to a whole lot of us
I’m in South Jersey and haven’t really seen an impact - I also don’t do it full time and if I don’t have platinum it’s not worth it because of scheduling around my actual job. I pretty much always carry ~75 AR and 100-120 orders last 30 days. I only use the money for gas, golf, and paying off debt quicker at the moment and it’s been great. And no, $30 hr isn’t after costs, but I’m not expecting to make $50 an hour lol it’s a side gig. What job/career with this low barrier of entry and little skills required pays better than $20/hr before taxes?
I’d imagine if it’s being relied on for living expenses and the income is really needed it may be different.
I guess it's a different way of looking at what's acceptable income for your time. That's different for everyone. We all have different parameters. Using it for extra income is/was basically the only thing Doordash was ever good for. Full-time/main income dashers are the ones who are hurting with all the new rules and driver oversaturation. It doesn't affect me as I have other primary sources of income and found a better delivery app in my area for extra cash. But yeah, Doordash has basically become a scam for those who are trying to use this as their main source of income. The more you dash, the less you net🤷‍♀️
From what a lot of people post they're making less than $15 an hour. That's before taxes and gas so the reality is they're probably making less than seven bucks an hour. Just go get a job.
Exactly! Unfortunately, it appears alot of them can't figure out basic simple math. There's alot of denial here🫤

I think it is a fantastic part time gig.
