How likely are we to get a base building rework in the future?

I play on console so I'm only limited to the current base building system and it feels very tedious and limited.

It would be great to see a base building rework in the future so I can build an outdoor base and not worry about it getting raided so easily and also have an easier way to build indoor bases.

I'm not saying that the current base building system is awful, it just needs a lot of work IMO. It would be great to build more than just walls, gates and towers.
