Thank you, I really tried. I have a love hate relationship with flavor text. But when Im into it, it's the most satisfying part of making a card.
Honesty Horseback Trafficker Flavor text is the coolest one
Ay same profile. Also that is insane flavor text.
Tech disruption model in eight words.
Simple as.
Righteous shots flavor text should be "Then" instead of "Than"
Grammar will always be my downfall. Thank you.
No problem. Easy mistake to make! These are all really good cards and the flavor texts are absolutely wins in my book
Should it? It's a comparative right, or am I missing something
Knight of Shining Crimson has amazing flavor text.
Aaaaah <3 Thank you it's my favorite as well
Okay Kaladin.
This is way too high quality for this sub in every way
It means so much to get a compliment like that.
I can feel myself improving in card design over the years of practice. I've got some wild designs coming soon, nobody should have let me have Photoshop. Thank you.
I was toying around with making fuse cards if color shifted designs, and ended up making these. There are other cards from Planar Chaos which could be combined with their originals, but I think these are the most interesting and balanced.
Enjoy. Also learning photoshop, so these diagonal frames were a test.
These are cards are really, well done.
I'm sort of new to this sub only really viewing card creation and not interacting but your post interested me. I was wondering if people use their cards/decks to actually play with them?
I know tabletop simulator (it's on steam) is very good with mtg and being able to port offical card and decks just from a link but i don't think it's been used/utilised for custom card decks.
If it were, i would be very interested to play with your decks
Thank you.
I don't play magic digitally, but I know a lot of people do. I make sets and cubes, and print out custom cards and play with friends. I know that a lot of people use tabletop simulator and cockatrice.
If you are looking to play with custom cards with others online, I recommend going to the Custom Magic discord. Here is a link to the Discord. They have a format made of entirely custom cards, it's really cool.
In my opinion, a cube or battle box is one of the best ways to play with custom cards. I have 2 custom cubes, made by people on this subreddit, that I swap out every year.
Hope that helps. :]
Thats good! Thanks for the information too :D.
I personally like tabletop because i can quickly switch to play other games but yeah i will definitely check those out.
I'd love to see the regular frame half for the OG card's color and the color shifted frame half for the Planar Chaos card's color.
Very cool cards. I’m gonna go ahead and fix every mistake I saw:
Gruul Enforcement:
• No spaces before or after the long dash in the flavor text. (See [[Night’s Whisper]].)
Knight of Shining Crimson:
• Unless you only want it to have protection from objects that are both red AND white, it should say “protection from red and from white”.
Righteous Shot:
• There should be a comma in that text; “nonred, nonwhite creature.”
• “Well, then I suppose…”
• Again, no space after the long dash.
Worldshaker:
• No issues found. Yay!
Keen Eyes:
• It’s a matter of opinion, but I think that the flavor text would do better with “right hand, but a…” rather than a period. Otherwise, no issues!
Link:
• No issues found. Yay!
Horseback Trafficker:
• Same deal as Knight of the Shining Crimson; “protection from black and from green”.
• Another matter of opinion, but I would put all the flavor text on one line.
Thank you. I appreciate my editors. You have the forbidden skill of being able to read text as it's written. <3
Always happy to help create more convincing cards! Happy creating!
Also, hybrid card border should be used in hybrid mana cards.
I think border color is fine. Technically yeah but it does look nice. Not sure why wizards keeps hybrid borders tethered to hybrid mana.
I do not know also, but as you said, there is no impact on the game itself, just a style option.

These all feel insanely powerful
These are all insanely pushed, but I don't think they are game breaking. When designing this cycle, if you can even call it that, I tried to make sure each card wasn't too broken.
The level of power where they are exciting to see and play, but not warping. I hope I did a good job at that. I was thinking these cards could go in modern, I don't know pioneer well enough for they are ok there.
Fair enough, I think you've done a really good job of that.
It means a lot he hear. Thank you.
Worldshaker and horseback trafficker seem weak to me. Honestly for 6 mana I'd expect hexproof on it othewise it's just too fragile. Or remove the sacrifice clause, or it would see no play. Horseback trafficker could probably start as a 3/3 since it's color requirements are so strict.
12 power haste is a game ending creature? You won before the endstep?
Nah. Some of them are interesting, and all of them are fun, but none of them are insanely powerful.
Like, Gruul Enforcement is hugely above rate, but at the end of the day it's "just" a combat trick, and it's no [[Become Immense|KTK]].
Knight of Shining Crimson is just a beater. Normally that's nothing special, but the Knight is resistant against removal, and Double Strike on a Voltron creature does a lot. So yeah, I could see it. Same for Horseback Trafficker except for the part where it's an efficient creature.
Righteous Shot is just bad. Two mana gets you unconditional creature removal. Put this next to [[Terminate|INV]] or [[Get Lost]].
Worldshaker can do a lot of damage, but for 6 mana I want something more impactful.
Keen Eyes, this one's funny. I could see it. Decks that want Curiousity effects usually want a ton on them. 2 mana is a lot more than 1 since these decks also run all the 1-mana defensive spells, but I could see it.
And Link is a meme card.
link is just [[Armadillo Cloak]] but worse for only one less in MV.
also, 2 mana for the most parts gets you conditional removal, not unconditional. only like 2 cards offer unconditional removal at 2MV.
Armadillo Cloak - (G) (SF) (txt)
[[cardname]] or [[cardname|SET]] to call
2CMC removal tends to come with riders, additional costs, or downsides, that's true. But there's plenty that's unconditional. In Standard right now, we have [[Bitter Triumph]], [[Infernal Grasp]], [[Fateful Absence]] and [[Get Lost]].
bitter triumph requires discarding a card or paying life, infernal grasp causes you to lose 2 life, fateful absence causes your opponent to investigate, and get lost gives them 2 map tokens. I'd personally consider all of those conditional.
keen eyes on any unblockable/trample creature is fucking nuts. I desperately need that card to be real
Keen eyes notably also triggers on noncombat damage
These are awesome. Too strong for standard? Seems like it, but this is great for some other kind of supplemental set, and absolutely perfect for a custom cube. I’ve always wanted to do a custom cube where every card is a play on old favorites, like you’ve done here, but with stronger power level.
I was thinking modern. Thanks.
Gruul enforcement is nuts in infect
There is only… 2 issues I have… “Keen eyes” probably can do a little more and “Righteous shot” feels off flavor in effect… after all about 50% of red is evil in some way
Righteousness isn't about being good, it's about thinking that you're good. Red/White is absolutely the color pair of righteousness.
Fair, though there are still plenty of red who know they are doing wrong and just keep going… red is the color of passion… passion can be a blindness.
White can willingly do evil too, under the guise of "the greater good". Righteousness is almost definitionally passionate.
Thank you, that is the flavor I was trying to evoke.
Also what for link makes it seem black at all?

Same with trafficker also actually…
Both cards don’t feel that far a stretch for black. Considering the PLC card they were are black helps too. Bloodthirst has been shown on vampires and old vampires also got bigger for killing creatures. Link is just lifelinking twice, which both white and black are the most common for.
It’s just protection is more of a blue/white effect, and counters are a green effect… and thinking of Ninjusu the way it gains that is also a green effect… and lifelink yes can be a vampire effect that same logic says that red can do lifelink… since vampire is a pretty red archetype also… lifelink is definitely white and doubling it too is also very white… because lifelink is healing yourself based off the attack you deal that any changes lot can do… so lifelink is in general a white effect…
It’s just white is about life gain and black is about stealing life not life gain… name a single black lifelink card that doesn’t do something else with its lifelink that isn’t strictly a vampire? There are legitimate white cards that actually just do lifelink and nothing else
What does “name a single black lifelink card that doesn’t do something else with its lifelink” even mean? Can it buff? Can it fly? Can it have haste? Or does it purely have to grant or be a creature with lifelink and only lifelink? [[Charity Extractor]] [[Leech Fanatic]] [[Mokutai Ambusher]] if ninjutsu is okay, [[Scrounger of Souls]], [[Sidisi’s Pet]].
I’m not sure why you think black doesn’t do lifelink. There’s way more examples but you were seemingly asking for “just” lifelink. And no, red is not in the territory of lifelink like black is.

Fair
It just seems like black would take a life to gain their life not through combat but by burn, while white converts any DMG they deal into healing… but yah fair
Link just feels like a pure white card that costs black, and trafficker feels like a Green-Blue card
Lifelink is primary in black, too. Link could be pure black, and it wouldn't be outside the modern color pie.
Hmm… I don’t think one exists that isn’t a vampire still… for black specifically…
Lifelink feels like a vampire exclusive and white thing…
(Sorry for splitting my response up) the flavor is they suck blood which is why they are allowed to have lifelink, I mean name a single black Non-Vampire card with lifelink? I can name white cards that aren’t vampire that have lifelink… and white too has vampires which have lifelink… tho I see the point in saying red vampires tend to not have it…
Here's 102 of them:

Win
You win already with curiosity. It's a mid tier cedh deck.
Oh I know. A friend runs it. Just pointing out one of the more obvious combos here.
I think this is the best in class for auras that give draw on damage, but this being 2 mana is a legitimate downside for trying to curve out while keeping up interaction.

Why does Horseback Trafficker not have Horsemanship?
These are direct interpretations of combining colorshifted cards and their unshifted equivalents.
The thought crossed my mind, but I wanted to stick to my gimmick.
Was joking for the most part considering how few things actually have Horsemanship. It feels like just a different version of flying for the most part with even less chose of blockers.
Horsemanship to me is funky flavorful unlockable.
I know you meant unblockable but now wondering if unlockable be a keyword were the opponent could pay mana to stop a creature from blocking while the owner of the creature gets a benefit from it.
I really like the idea of a contested ability. Maybe generalize it a bit. Really cool space, that's really wordy without a keyword.
Contest - Cost opponent pays Ability Bonus - What you get
I might make a fancy text box for the effect.
Presumably because neither [[dunerider outlaw]] nor [[whirling dervish]] has horsemanship.

Next team up card, Yargle and Ragavan.
I do really like these. Nice job! They seem exciting in the way real, printable cards would be.
That's great to hear. Finding that balance is always the challenge.
Trample, trample, haste, haste
At the beginning of the end step, sacrifice Worldshaker. If you do, sacrifice Worldshaker.
This made me laugh
Protection is worded:
protection from (color) and FROM (color)
Whats the gimmick. I can tell something cool is going on but I’m confused
These are a combination of the Colorshifted cards from Planar Chaos and the original cards they are based off.

flavor text is really good but they're big no-nos balance-wise lol
You think? These are strong, but there are equivalents for most of these cards.
[[Scale Up]] and [[Become Immense]]
[[Agrus Kos, Spirit of Justice]] was just printed and sees no play. And [[Blade Historian]] is a much better card.
Righteous Shot can be seen as a weird 3 color hate card. It deals with Shelodred, but I don't think it would be played outside the sideboard.
Worldshaker would only be viable when reanimated, and doesn't have easy loops like [[Lightning Skelemental]] has.
Keen Eyes is the most powerful one, and has the issue of being 2 colored mana, hurting the current curve of aura decks. Turn 1 creature, turn 2 aura hold interaction.
Link gives tons of life, but is vulnerable to everything. I cant image it be played anywhere but commander.
And the Trafficker is just a bad card.
If these got printed in MH3 i think they would see fringe play at best. Keen Eyes excluded.
They all seem fine, except that Keen Eyes should probably be "combat damage" only - even without niv mizzet combos, the mere existence of this in a format would turn every pinger creature into a removal magnet.
Knight of Shining Crimson and Keen eyes are the big no-nos as far as I'm concern
4/4 double strike is way above rate, and pro-white makes it resistant to a lot of removal (the two cards you showed have 2 power and no relevant protective ability)
keen eyes well it's still an aura but it's such an upgrade over similar cards
If we're talking direct to modern none of the other cards would make it, but these two and the gruul one could definitely be too strong for standard or pioneer (admittedly I thought worldsharker was 4 mana, read it too fast, at 6 it's way more reasonnable than I first thought)
Very good concept and selection!

Keen eyes is too good imo. One reason those cards work is bc they cost a card to play (the card itself). This basically cantrips and then let's you draw two. So I'd say it should either cost 2 more or a card
I love them!

Gruul infect here we go
I love these flavor texts! My favorite is Keen Eyes but every single card is awesome :)
Thanks. I iterated over Keen Eyes for a while.
Two fucking ball lightnings 👀👀👀
these are all insane and way too good for limited environments
Depends on the set it's made for? Some of these have strong effects, but are multicolored, so if the limited enviroment has bad color fixing you might miss casting them on curve. Others have actual limitations and would need to be sided out on some matches. Also none of them seem to have an actual rarity and that could determine power level also.
a four mana 4/4 double strike with double protection is unreal, even at rare, for limited.
blade historian gave all your attackers double strike and was a 2/3 for four hybrid RW as a comp.
Blade Historian boosts an ENTIRE board during attacks and makes go wide twice as lethal. It also can be can be cast with any combination of mountains and plains, rather than exactly 2 and 2. Historian can also be played in a monocolor build as well.
Fair trade for a an attacker that does not boost the board. It also still dies to the best removal color in black and always needs 2 colors in a non-green deck. In a hypothetical draft setting that could have bad fixing. Also what rarity is it really? You assume it has to be a rare. Is it a special slot card? A mythic? Hard to say.
all these questions aside: a double protection double striker 4/4 for 4 is way too good. period. even at RWUG it’s probably too strong.
Magic suprises me all the time, so you might just be right in saying that.
These are really cool even if they are prolly OP in several cases
Shouldn't Ball Lightning have 2 toughness though?
I would never let these touch standard. I was thinking Modern. And thank you, I'm a huge fan of your designs <3
Also what do you mean? I thought I got the toughness right. Sorry, I'm a bit confused.
Yes! These would be perfect for sort of a Planar Chaos / Modern Horizons set. I'd like them to do another spin on the "colorshift" cards one day, like you have here.
And I am very glad to hear that!
My point was that your [[Ball Lightning]] "doubled" has 12 toughness, but both Ball Lightning and [[Groundbreaker]] are 6/1s, so shouldn't it be a 12/2? 🤔
From a balance perspective 12 toughness is fine since, of course, it dies right away anyway. But, it breaks the cycle of these all being the two OG cards spliced together exactly
EDIT: I just can't read lol. You do have it as a 12/2. For some reason my brain read it (twice) as 12/12 😅
