How many people do you normally ask, until someone let you couchsurf by their home? I wrote 6 People, but nobody replied at this loment. Pls Help!
First of all make sure that you send your request to an account that is active. Use the filters. Check if they have hosted people like you.
Yes! Definitely check the last time they were active. If "more than 7 years ago", they are not going to reply. I send as many requests as it takes (usually 5-10), but I have over 100 positive references, so I have better results.
Normally I ask about 3-5 people before getting accepted. Why don't you share an example of one of the requests that you've send to a host ? Perhaps we can give you some advice how to improve your requests and increase your chances being hosted.
Hey, ... I'm completely new to couchsurving and don't know the processes. I'd like to have a sleep opportunity tonight, bcs I still go to a School and want to save money. (: I'm clean and uncomplicated and I'would love to stay a night in a Home of a real Bolognian. Erik
Are you the same person who was asking about Helpdesk? Your request is very poorly written, also if by school you mean university it’s pretty confusing for most non-Americans, if you do mean school don’t know if many people want to host schoolchildren. Educate yourself first, actually spellcheck your text (misspelling “Couchsurfing” is pretty bad). Write why you are interesting and a good guest, nobody cares about you being poor and saving money.
Is it too unfriendly? I dont want to lie, that i want to spend a lot of time together or i want to find a new friend for my live.
At least put some effort in reading about Couchsurfing and what it's about. - "I'm completely new to couchsurving and don't know the processes" Don't say that! You can say that you're new and would like to learn more about Couchsurfing. - " I'd like to have a sleep opportunity tonight, bcs I still go to a School and want to save money. (:" It would be great if you could host me tonight, I'd be very grateful! Mentioning that you want to save money is absolutely a no-go! Couchsurfing has never been about saving money it's about getting to know new people and learn about other cultures. So CS is not for a free couch. Also personalize your requests by mentioning something from the host's profile, for example; I see you have been in South Africa, what did you like most over there?
By the way I can tell from experience that finding a host in Bologna is not easy, in tried it last year without any luck and ended up renting an Airbnb
Hey, thank you i will take your advice seriously
Yes you should be honest and someone will fit your situation. If you pretend otherwise a host may get upset and leave a negative review or avoid writing a review altogether
I usually don't find more than 10-15 people with whom I would like to meet. If none of them respond, I look for alternatives to cs.
Depends on a place. In some places like Barcelona you can send 50 requests and get 0 feedback, at the same time in some cities of France i got accepted by the first person i asked
It's different. Sometimes the first person responds, sometimes 20 and no one. Depends on too many things, but in general it isn't easy and takes a lot of requests. Keep trying! 🤞🏼
6 is not so many
Make sure you request people that were online recently and not a year+ ago. I made that mistake before.
If you’re a guy it’s way harder to get hosted.
It can be up to 20 to 50 requests. Just keep trying
