I am seeing wildflowers now in Foothills hike. Saw my first ones of spring at Red Rocks the end March. Saw 13 varieties last week on Hayden Green Mountain last week. Should reach 30 kinds by July.
Just about everywhere in July. I've Berthoud Pass, Loveland Pass, Indian Peaks, Brainard Lake, Crested Butte ... I feel deprived if I dont see columbines. These flowers are kind if picky. Dont like woods or tundra, but the boundary between the two.
I just learned that the I-button on Apple device screenshots will attempt an identification of a flower picture. So I might finally learn some names.
Pretty much everywhere I went last July was wildflower overload. It was great and I’m hoping this year is the same with all that snow pack. Golden Gate was probably my favorite. I did the Mountain Lion Loop.
