It is okay, and that might help you relax during a stressful game, but it might be beneficial to turn the chess audio way up if you're going to do this.
If your music is too loud or your chess volume is too soft, you might miss audio cues like a player jumping, flipping, or activating their boost. It might cost you a demo or a bump, but in the grand scheme of things, having fun is the most important thing.
my man's out here talking about rocket league...
IMO a lot of music can distract from genuine focus on the game, but it can be okay, it depends on how it affects you. I like to have something relaxing without lyrics, for example a coffee shop jazz focus video from YouTube just so it's not dead silence, but it's just background for me as opposed to me headbanging to my favorite metal songs.

Huh? What context am I missing here?
When a car hits supersonic speed and rams into you, it demolitions your car and you respawn near your goal after a few seconds. If they ram into you without supersonic speed, the community calls those "bumps", since it bumps you away. If the ball is already en route to your net and you're demo'd or bumped, they're probably going to score.
Sometimes, audio cues make all the difference.
What the F are you talking about? And how does it relate to Chess?
Sounds like rocket league

Meh. You're just being random. Thought April Fools was about good jokes
Thought April Fools was about good jokes
There has never once, in the history of the universe, been a good April Fools joke.
Only bad ones, and the fools who fall for them.

Uhm, allright. I guess our opinions differ wildly
Straight to jail
That’s the only acceptable way of playing out there kid
Why would it not be? If you like playing with music, do it. If you find it distracting, don't.
No
Yes, you must play Blue Danube while playing chess to get the full 2001: A Space Odyssey HAL 9000 experience of losing to a computer.
What are we? Your parents??? :) If it helps... and you're alone. I listen to classical guitar - nothing too jarring.
I play chess while watching Netflix
I realized I do alot better playing with music, but I rarely do so, I feel bad using an external stimul, feels like cheating
no
No, it’s illegal and will get you permanently banned from Chess
