Thought this guy was the real deal haha. Joey Galloway on the other side was actually pretty good though.
Joey Galloway
This is my answer, for some reason he was the first real name that I fell in love with mostly cause of Madden as he was always phenomenal for me there lol
Same me and Galloway in Madden were unstoppable and I will always love him for that!
When Madden came out with those special abilities I remember him having the wings under him so I always got a kick hitting the deep route and seeing that
Joey Galloway going deep was unstoppable in madden
Play action bomb out if the I-Formation was almost a guaranteed TD with his speed lol
I once saw a Bucs game in SF where there was almost zero TD’s. Quite boring. But there was a swing pass to Joey that he took 50+ yards to the house. He out ran everyone. That play was awesome.
As a Cowboys fan, Desean was definitely not mediocre. That dude broke many of games.
You're right, and for some context, M1K3 is probably gonna end up with 2x the total touchdowns that Desean Jackson had
Michael Clayton let me pour water on his head when I went to trading camp in like 08. Sad his career didn’t work out
He was when he was here at least. Guy did not give a shit at all, can't stand him.
Above average at best. Flashes of brilliance but lazy too.
He was with us
Joe Jurevicious.
The self tip for the tuddy will always live in my heart.
I was literally 9 years old for that lol
I was a teenager. Still watch the highlight regularly.
I still have my Jurevicious jersey from when I was 11
This.
I’m sorry but the man tipped a ball to himself! Mediocre my ass!!! Now Keenan Mccardel….
😂🤘
Arrelious Benn from that 2010 season
That’s a name or play I haven’t heard in a long time. Our greatest trick, a good ol WR reverse for a loss. The Benn’d around!
This made me laugh out loud (literally).
Long live the Benn'd Around!
The fact we called something like this more than once is astonishing. Coaches were just like “keep calling it, we’ll get them eventually!”
Mike too
We heard you.
If only he’d stayed in bounds on that one Bennd around
I came to comment this lol
Mike Williams
That was my dude. I was also beating the table for Michael Crabtree.
RIP
Jacquez Green
I remember reading an article about how good the Bucs passing game was going to be because they "raided the University of Florida" in drafting Jacquez Green and Reidel Anthony.
He was great in college though
Tiquan Underwood
heres a real answer... half this post is people naming actual good players or elite players past their prime.
His hair was glorious
It wasn't a WR for me, it was Mike "Giraffe Lord" Glennon
But if I had to pick a WR I'd go with Adam Humphries, dude was a gamer.
I have a Humphries jersey I had the stadium make it for me because they didn't sell them
Scotty Miller 1.0
Mini Cam Brate
I had my boy Testaverde.
Does Joey Galloway count as a mediocre WR? He was the only WR on the 2006 roster that actually had more than like, 60 receptions in his entire career.
There were some dark years with Josh Freeman at QB where we desperately needed guys like Sammie Stroughter, Arrelious Benn, or Tiquan Underwood to step up their game as WR2s and in the end they were all disappointing.
I more relate to this watching Austin Sefarian Jenkins then OJ Howard go out there knowing what they should be capable up yet lay a turd week after week.
Reidel Anthony
Will always love this dude for that 96 Gators run
Him along with Green and Karl were something!
Finally someone my age
Mark Carrier
Same.
Old-high-five! Not too hard, though, don't want to make our back pain worse.
Same here. I was 9 in ‘91. We won a whopping three games that year, but I still loved Mark Carrier.
This is also mine. Back when we’d wonder if Vinny was gonna throw more passes to our Mark Carrier or the Bears DB named… Mark Carrier.
I wasn't 9 years old at the time, but Maurice Stovall comes to mind
Brings more memories back today, seen the video yesterday on LeGarrette Blount on here and he was the receiver way up in the second level blocking like an unchained dawg

Stovall and Sammie Stroughter. Guys lead my team in Madden when they were at their peak
Bro Desean Jackson is a top 3 all time deep threat… by numbers he’s the best… most 50 yards TDs… one of the fastest to ever play the game…. Not great but nfl network will be showing his highlights for years to come… he has quite a few legendary plays…
I’m going with Joe Jurevicious
Top 3 Anti Semite too
Really?
He's talking about Desean, not Joe btw, just to clarify cause it migh tbe misunderstood.
Desean Jackson had some tweet where he said something about jews, i don't really remember what it was, but it was really controversial 2-3 seasons ago, I think it was while he was on the raiders or before joining them. Can't remember if he aplogized, nor the comment, but i just wanted to clarify in case at least one person misunderstands the comment
Based
maybe they meant DJax on the Bucs
My instant thought!
No Antonio Bryant? Did everyone forget about this guys awesome 2 season stretch?
He made me a bucs fan after that one hand catch against the panthers
Came here to say him. I thought he was going to be Reggie Wayne.
Came here to say him. I thought he was going to be Reggie Wayne.
Desean jackson is my least favorite bucs player of all time
Same. Everyone loves to defend him but his effort was abysmal and he’s an antisemite.
I loved Cameron Brate so much
For me its T. J. Houshmandzadeh from Cincinnati. He was my WR the first time Ive ever played fantasy football. He was a solid player back then but I liked him way more than I should have.
TJ Whosyourmama
Hooooooooooooosh
I died when that commercial first came out. HILARIOUS!!
Loved Adam Humphries when he was with us but I wasn’t 9 lol
Also, DeSean Jackson is a garbage human being
Reidel Anthony
Keenan McCardell
Take it back.
I can't take this slander. People SLEEP on the fucking Mark Brunell to Keenan McCardell connection in Jacksonville during those first 5-6 years. Go back and look at McCardell's numbers during those years, that's not a mediocre WR that's a solid #1 receiver
They made a god damn documentary about Keenan and jimmy smith.
Kevin House
Mark Carrier for me
I also thought Sammie stroughter was going to own the league after that game winner! Him and Josh freeman still are young enough to make this happen you can’t tell me they aren’t!!!
Jacquez Green. Loved the guy as a gator fan so I was stoked when he was drafted, Reidel Anthony as well but to this day Jacquez Green is the only Bucs jersey I’ve ever gotten for myself.
Wasn’t that long ago but I really do for some reason miss Scotty miller
Brandon Stokely
Pretty much paved the way for the quick white slot guy (no offense to anyone btw)
DeSean Jackson is one of the best deep-threats ever. He had 1056 yards on just 47 receptions in 2010. That is fucking insane.
Wasn't when I was 8, when I was 19 years old. In 2005 Jon Gruden used a 5th round pick on a small school WR named Larry Brackins. He didn't even make the team but this guy was a WR god in Madden. I used him to torture my friend in madden.
I'd send Larry on a short in route or slant across the middle. near 100% catch rate. the only thing that would stop it is if my friend took control of a safety and brought him close to the line. No problem, if he did that I would just bomb it deep to Joey Galloway. I think my single best game I broke 700 yards passing.
I also thought Sammie stroughter was going to own the league after that game winner! Him and Josh freeman still are young enough to make this happen you can’t tell me they aren’t!!!
Mike Williams.
Also, I was a huge Crabtree fan.
I said Mike too. Rip.
Joey Galloway for me (he was ending his prime when we had him)
Keyshawn Johnson, for a #1 pick overall he was mediocre. I liked his swagger as a kid haha.
Joe Jurevicious, this was easy
Yo Murphy
If It’s truly when I was 9, it’s Bert Emanuel. But I’ll always have a soft spot for Sammie Stroughter.
Michael Clayton
V-Jax
He was far from mediocre. When healthy he avg 1k+yards 7+ TDs a season
First Bucs receiver I can remember was V-Jax. Someone a bit more average probably would’ve been Adam Humphries
Adam humpries and late Vincent Jackson, may he rest in peace
Hawks fan here.. my 13 year old son just responded with "DK"
💀
Larry Brackins. But really, Michael Clayton.
Gene Washington - the Viking, not the 49r. I'm not sure why I was a Vikings fan, maybe because nobody else was and I wanted to be different. The Bucs were not even a glimmer in their daddy's eye.
Reidel Anthony, Ike Hilliard, Jacquez Green
I feel spoiled having grown up with Welker and Edelman,
I feel spoiled having grown up with Welker and Edelman,
I'm gonna have to move the goalpost to 13. When I was 9 I definitely wasn't simping for Craig Erickson and Horace Copeland.
Reidel Anthony though, that was a star in the making.
Frank Pillow. Great name too
DeSean and Fitz lit it up, I wouldn't say he was mediocre but he DID fall off after we benched the magic for Winston.

Antonio Brown.
Antonio Brown. Great WR, great crazy.
Antonio Brown. Great WR, great crazy.
Lee Evans
Rip but I was excited about Mike Williams lol
Antonio Bryant
Tiquan Underwood.
I’m still not sure how he kept his hair so perfect under that helmet…
Soul Glue... from the makers of soul glow
Karl “the truth” Williams
Same
Kevin House
not a bucs wr but I used to think Kenny stills was the best wr in football when I didn't know anything about the NFL
If I had to pick a WR when I was 9, or there about, it would have to be when we signed Alvin Harper from the Cowboys. I thought for sure we had the steal of the decade when we signed him from the Cowboys. Little did I realize until many years later and my adolescent haze faded did I realize he just took the money and didn't do shit when he was here.
Courtney Hawkins
Jacquez Green 💯💯💯
Mediocre what lol
Wasn’t mediocre per say, but it’s definitely Mike Williams for me
I wasn't 9 but pretty much every receiver the bucs had during that first superbowl era
Keenan Mcardell
Keenan McCardell will always hold a special place in my heart, but he wasn't necessarily mediocre. So I'm going with Bert Emanuel, the man was part of the play that could've gotten us to our first Super Bowl.
Not a WR but LB. Barrett Ruud was a dawg in college and I wish he was better in the NFL.
I was still trying to find my team when I was young almost went with the jags and Keenan McCardell popped in which also works cause he was on the bucs too in 2002.
Sammie Stroughter
Does Terry Glenn count?
everytime i see this i think of my little cousin who was adamant about taking sammy watkins in my family's fantasy football league
I was all in on Antonio Bryant around that age
Yancey Thigpen
I wasnt 9, but Mike Williams outta Syracuse was one of my fav players and he never even got over 1k in any season lol
Joe Jurevicius for me!
I'm old. Horace Copeland.
Keenan McCardnell. Thought he was the goat for a few years then I realized I was stupid that Joey Galloway was the true goat wr
Keyshawn Johnson. Surprised I haven't seen him pop up more, but maybe I'm just dating myself.
Joe Jurevicius
Michael Westbrook
Rocket 🚀 Ismail Smith…
Curtis conway
I thought Austin Sefarian-Jenkins was the next Gronk
Alvin Harper 😂
Donte Moncrief
Joey Galloway, when I was in elementary school idk why I saw him as the goat lol I always wore his 84 jersey whenever we played football at school 😂
Pierre Garçon?
Marques Colston. Wasn’t average per se, definitely an all star but kids growing up won’t know who he is.
Michael Clayton. Also, DeSean Jackson wasn’t a mediocre WR lol.
