I've watched The Mirror Has Two Faces and Six Degrees of Separation for the first time this year; both movies feature future directors as college students (Eli Roth in Mirror, JJ Abrams in Six Degrees) and it's a real tossup between which one has the more punch-able face within the context of their movie.
As an enjoyer of some Eli Roth films, I hope he doesn’t have any other objectionable qualities.

I like Eli Roth and I think the comments here are a little bit unfair.
I never seem to hate Eli Roth like most. Sure he can come off as the embodiment of "bro" but I genuinely enjoyed those first two horror movies and was pretty interested in what he was doing for horror in those mid early 2000s. I mean to be fair tho horror wasn't what it is now so I guess there really wasn't a lot to choose from. I guess my point is I still got a soft spot for the dude. I think I'm alone in this lol

I’m not trolling. I love Roth’s films, and honestly nothing I’ve seen from Martin Brest has made me feel anything. Genuinely don’t get the love for him or anything he’s made. Even Midnight Run, by far his best film, is just fine. Much rather watch Roth’s nasty provocative work
