I was talking to my mom last night about Stationery Fest and I’m wondering if anyone else here is super into stationery (especially Japanese) and anything Hobonichi-related?
Any other ladies super into stationery?
Interests & Hobbies 🪴🥾What are some Japanese pens you like?
MUJI and Gelly Roll
I used to be, long ago. I still get a bit excited for a good pen or pencil, or cutesy erasers and notepads and such.
The only thing I'm really particular about anymore are my pens/pencils. I saw this article the other day about the preferred pencil for crosswords, I was on board until they said "wider is better"
I'm real big on a good pen and good paper. I've recently been in love with the Martha Steward line of notebooks. Hear me out, the paper weight is PERFECT and they're thin-ruled like a lot of eastern stationery.
I still stand behind the pilot G2 as the perfect pen. TŪL is pretty good too, just expensive. I used to be really into mildliners, but those sharpie pastel highlighters work better for me.
The G2 didn't do it for me, even though I was super-excited they brought over the 0.38mm.
I've been pretty strictly a Uniball person for the past 10 or so years, usually a Jetstream 3 or Signo RT, both in 0.38mm. Oddly I don't like the Kuru Toga pencils at all.
Ahhhhh I gotta do a .7mm or else it doesn't feel right.
Anything larger than 0.5mm is too big for my liking, a friend had a near-meltdown about the article I shared recommending 0.9mm 😅
Oddly enough, I really liked the Sharpie retractable pens when they came out, and I think they were either 0.7 or 1mm.
I meant .07 lolol my bad. Imma leave it in there though. But yes, 0.7 would be too huge for me as well!
I think you were good, .7 is a pretty common size and I'm just fussy.
YES!! I am the same way, I REALLY have to like a pen if it’s over .7, otherwise I prefer .5 and lower. The sharpie retractables are sooooo nice for such a simple pen!
Have you tried the Uni One by uniball? It’s my daily right now in .5 and it’s fire. JetPens had a sale and I got one in every color ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Oh, that's cute! I haven't tried it, between my JS3, drawer of refills, and lack of writing, I haven't needed a new pen for the better part of a decade.
I ordered a lot from JetPens and jstationery when I first started a job where I needed multiple pens. Work provided the 3-4 color pens we needed, but I didn't like them and why carry 3 pens I don't like when I can have one pen I love?
I love stationery! I like to buy pens, office supplies, notebooks etc that are super cute and unique. When i studied abroad in Korea they had a ton of stationery stores , one thing i miss.
I LOVE stationery. You can pay someone to design your own monogram!
Lol I have drawers full of cards and note paper and stuff.
I used to love getting stationary at ohayocon (the anime con in my city) every year. I’d like to write letters and send them to my friends lol.
Yep. Obsessed with stationery since elementary school I collect it. Best part of living in Japan was I had access to the Japanese Pokémon stationery and hard to find games like Koei Warriors. Kirby used to be my favorite to collect but since his newest game came out he’s much more accessible then years ago
I am obsessed, 2yrs ago I discovered Hobonichi and this year started using my Cousins daily. I love mine, I’m a huge pen-head too! My pen/marker/highlighter collection is out of control and I haven’t bought a pen in like 5yrs lol
I love all things stationary. Whenever I got to the store and there’s a notebook section, my kids DEEP SIGH. Lmao
I am, just started using the Hobinichi Weeks for my food log/habit tracker. I use a Hemlock and Oak daily calendar for everything else though. Also have an obsession with Japanese pens.
