Greetings!

I have been excited about a Morocco trip for a while now. I’m a man in my early 30s from Canada (I also speak French) travelling to Morocco in mid May for 4 weeks. Goal is to go from Tangier, head down to Chefchouan, Meknes and if the weather is good aim for Marrakech, a splash of Atlas then Essouria and glide up the coast back into Spain

However, having discussed with a few people who have travelled there for example, I have been told of it being dangerous ( tangier, Marrakesh, Casablanca) and they are pushing me to towards not doing so…

Have any of you travelled solo there? Is it high risk of being robbed in areas I’ve defined?

I’m assuming there is no official campsites so what’s it like pitching a tent ithe outskirts of cities or countryside? Unwanted attention?

I have a genuine belief that these places aren’t as bad as they seem but still I’m hesitant given some friends and family’s lived experience. (Have also heard that Moroccan’s can be very warm and will invite you in to stay.)

If anyone has any experience in Morrocco and is willing to share the nuances of your travel, I would appreciate it :)
