Basics aside (e.g. pitching, hitting, etc.), what are some noticeable features that appear in baseball that other sports don’t have?
A few off the top of my head:
The defense controls the ball. In (almost?) every other sport, the offense controls the ball.
Although there’s no dress code at all for them, managers and coaches wear the same uniforms as players.
Ejections are seen as either no big deal or rites of passage. In other sports, being ejected is considered disgraceful.
Being successful 3/10 times on offense can be enough to be considered stellar. Try having only 30% success rate in other sports and see how far it leads.
You can’t default to your best player in a time of need. Bottom 9 down by one and you got 7, 8, 9 coming up? Deal with it. You can’t give your best scorer the ball or find your elite wide out to get you the win.
It’s the most complete team sport.
