Just went picked up this s&w mp15 sport II ct with moe hand guards and picatiny rail gas block. And recommendations for hand guards? Looking for a mlok style hand guard.
Brick and mortar gun stores fucking their customers? What’s new lol
Bubba chudds be like.. "I know what I got..." 😑
Noo lol. That’s the one behind it they wanted 700 since it’s 9/10 on the refurbished scale. However since I also got my pistol from the same shop he dropped it to 500 included a 2 point sling with it. $545 with background
500 is not a bad price at all but, 45 bucks for a transfer???? Fuck that,..... wait they charged you a transfer fee when you bought it from them? Is that a common experience for gun buyers in your area?
Transfer and background check. Think the transfer is $35 and the background was $10.
Why was there a transfer fee? It wasn't transferred it was sold.
Okay so I had to check the receipt. There was no transfer fee $500 for the Ar , $10 background check , $35.70 sales tax.
Ok that makes sense,
Those used to go for 750. Unfortunately for the gun shop SW released the 3.0 for 750 a few months ago… I would be at like 500 for it.
Yeah $500 is what I paid for the AR.
Nice. 👍
I heard they sport 3 recently released but couldn’t find it in store in my area
Eh 🤷♂️. You still got a good gun
Yeh I’m grateful. For the price. That was the 4th store I checked that day. Had the best price, and he threw in an extra mag and sling. So now to just to pick it up zero it in to the iron sights ima get. Then probably do the 1/3 cowitness and start upgrading after. Start with the hand guards.
I need to do that too, but I’m broke and keep buying ammo instead lol. Would like to upgrade to a free float
lol I feels that. I get to spend a 2-400 like once a month after all bills, and important things are covered lol. So it’s gna be a process lol. I peeped Psa has some good deals for bulk ammo. But I’ve found gunshows have the best deals (at least here in soflo where I’m at)
I guess? I know they’re discontinued and used to run 760-850 depending time and website.
Not a bad deal man don’t sweat it
Thanks I figured. 500 was the lowest the system would let him go so grateful either way. It’s an entry level ar. So wasn’t tryna break the bank.
wait you paid $500 for a S&W
OOOOOOOOOOOOf
How much did you pay for that shit box 07 vette? 🤡
Fucking ROASTED
😂😂
Not much, its a cheap track car.
How long did you spend scrolling on my profile to try to find a dunk?
About 2.5 seconds considering you only have 4 posts, megamind.
Well hey, lets see your track toy.
I have better things to spend my money on than a rust bucket that makes it out to the track once a year, lol.
yeah all those composites are really covered in rust lmao.
You can just say you cant afford it lol.
Lmfao, a 14 year old could afford that vette with their allowance. You’re not special.
Believe it or not, some people are actually responsible with their finances and don’t blow their money on overpriced guns and piece of shit cars 🤯
I mean they are still going for 750 in the stores around me. To get it for 500 was a steal for me. Could of ordered from psa but ima just build my arp on psa
500 is a good price for a sport 2. I have one and it's been a solid rifle.
This comment here 💪🏾
500 Is a great price. Lotta dudes on here gobble meat and rag on others to compensate.
Your rifle will make anyone bleed, regardless of what they think of price.
But that side vert grip is what makes it $1200!!!
Whoever 2 guns deep on the rack like that also needs to be slapped. I'm putting my own battle scar on my rifle, not buying it like that.
absolutely seething
Lol you’ve already lost
If you can handle swapping barrel nuts without needing a gunsmith your options will open up, a lot.
That I do know how to do
You can use a daniel defense omega handguard and it doesn't require any change in hardware.
VLTOR CasV should go on without any change of hardware as well and those things are dope. Just has to be the right one since there’s FSB
I think that gas block will still limit them to clamshell stuff unfortunately
He’d have it off for the nut swap and could go with a new gas block if needed for clearance issues. Anyone that could handle the barrel nut swap shouldn’t have any problems installing a new gas block if needed.
Centurion and Midwest make free float handguards for FSPs.
MI even makes an extra long one to cover to pin holes 👍
Yeah, thats fair enough. I guess just wanted to make a point that changing the barrel nut functionally means disassembly of the entire upper, since it definitely snuck up on me the first time.
How do you think it will look with this since it has the gas block instead of the sight. drop in handguard
Only thing is, this rail is made for having a front sight block. Not sure if the pic rail block will fit in the hole made for the fsb. I’d def check on that, but the rail looks sick
Gotta I see what you’re saying I stumbled access this one https://centurionarms.com/c4-rail-carbine-length-cutout-rail-handguard/
Hold on, this thing is kind of sick. If I’m not mistaken, VISM primarily makes airsoft stuff don’t they? I don’t know much about them or their qc personally
I saw a few videos nothing about airsoft tho makes me concerned now lol
i have one , same exact rifle. 1000+ rounds and no problem so far
Civilian style ars??
Yeah, I thought that too. Someone new to “civilian style” ARs is just new to ARs.
Ok
I’ve only handled a government issues m16 and m4a1( full auto) . ( was in the service 2009-13 ) so wasn’t sure if they broke down differently. Is all. It’s been 10 plus years only weapon I’ve touched is a 9mm recently that I purchased for edc
Same platform as your service rifles.
Same manual of arms as your service rifle, except there's a higher ceiling for quality in the civilian world when it comes to guns.
Higher ceiling and lower floor.
I was gonna mention that too
Wtf is an m4a2
M4a1 my bad.
Why is no one talking about the vertical foregrip being attached to the left side of the gun in the back?
Bro I asked him why it was there and he even was shocked. When the original owner sold it. He asked if I was interested said hell nah.
"Civilian style"? All ARs are civilian style...
Not the ones in use by military and law enforcement.
The military doesn't use AR's...
The United States military has used AR-15’s in every major conflict it has taken part in since 1961, with the combat trials of the AR-15 under USCONARC’s project AGILE.
Yes they do. All M16s and M4s are AR15s, not all AR15s are M16s or M4s.
Nonsense. They are not AR15s, although they are based on them.
They are literally AR15s. That’s the name of the Armalite design. M16 is just a military designation. Same as how all M1928A1s are still Thompsons but not all Thompsons are M1928A1s.
Yes, we all know they were designed by Armalite. The AR15 is semi-auto, the M16 and all of it's subsequent versions aren't. Different gun.
Apparently you don’t know. The AR15 was designed from the beginning as a select fire rifle. Not a semi auto only design. So if anything in this little semantic game you fudds like to play, anything that is semi auto only is not a “real” AR15.
The fudds are going to lead to more gun grabbing istg
The M16 is a Colt AR-15 model 604. Armalite, the subsidiary of Fairchild, never made a semi auto AR-15. Every Armalite AR-15, all 3 dozen or so, were select fire.
M16 is simply the DOD designation for the model 604, the one adopted by the US Air Force. It was given that designation in December of 1963, as per the M16 Rifle Review Board’s history of the M16 weapon system, linked below.
99% of your beat cop patrol rifles are off the shelf semi auto Colts, FN, Daniel Defense, S&W, BCM that you can buy yourself. It’s mostly your SWAT guys that have a giggle switch. Even then those stay on semi 99% of the time. I think I’ve seen maybe one or two body cam videos where a cop let off a full auto burst.
Youre gonna need a low profile gas block if you want a longer handguard
$1200? Expensive I think. 🧐
That’s the green one behind it. I paid $545 with background check for the black one
Awesome. Expend the rest in ammo and start practicing! 💪
Thanks you. Haven’t shot ar since 2013. Last time I shot was at the qualifying range while still in the service
So you just need to remember the old times. lol
centurion c4
Would the gas block cut out line up with a picatinny gas block, and line up with the top rail? I don’t have one personally, but I’ve always wondered.
If you don't want to gunsmith, you'll end up with a 2 piece handguard which is actually not bad. Utg/leapers is a good cheap starting point. They make a pro line that's made in America. Midwest and troy are the next step up in quality and are excellent value. Another great one is Yankee hill. My guilty pleasure handguard is the ncstar/vism triangle. Also b5 makes a cheap low profile polymer drop in.
Sweet appreciate that. I was looking at this one hand guard
I had this one. It's very light, which is nice, but it gets very hot very quickly. Also, I think it's aluminum, so a softer metal, which means it dents quite easily. I installed an mlok vertical grip and tightening the lugs immediately warped/damaged the finish. It looks really nice though, and the price point is attractive. Just not the most durable piece of furniture.
Edit: I just remembered...I don't think the mlok slots are exactly to spec? I tried installing some magpul mlok rail covers, and they were a bit loose. If you don't plan on using the mlok slots, you're probably fine though.
Just don’t know how it would look since I have the rails gas block. Instead of the a2 sight that sticks through the gap
If you get one with a cutout spot for an a2, it'll work but look strange. You can always put a front sight on, but it might interfere. I personally love the look of the railed gas block with a polymer handguard. Mft and strike industries, even the magpul moe sl look pretty sharp with a railed gas block.
I may just do that I wana get a pair of back up sights. Was trained with iron sights. Figure a pair would be good. Maybe from magpul since the fs has to be metal
Bear in mind, there are 2 types of railed gas block. One is gas block height which is lower than the receiver rail. The other is standard height which matches the upper receiver rail. They aren't interchangeable.
I’m not sure I’d have to wait till I pick up to be for sure. 5 day mandatory waiting period. Since idon’t have my concealed yet.
That railed block gets hot! Use a magpul pro myself on my M&P 15. And that block lines up fine BTW. I use a polymer Magpul rear and all works as it should . And to save a buck I went with a UTG drop in quad. Has been fine for last 4 years, but no real hard use by any means. Also I ditched my CT dot. It wouldn't hold zero. Not sure what was deal.
How’s the quality ? It doesn’t dent or wear easily?
No. Pretty solid so far.
Civilian style AR is the only kind of AR there is.
Without having to go to a gunsmith
Midwest industries has a few different drop-in handguards. You could even get a quadrail
Appreciate that I was looking at this one since it’s a drop in just curious on how it would like with the gap and gas block since the iron sight won’t be there to stick through the gap hand guard
You shouldn't need to go to one if you install any of them right
Midwest drop ins or the Daniel Defense Omega M-Lok
Quad rail
Ive been digging my MWI two piece free floats. They work off the gi nut and are rock solid.
Can you drop a link to it please
Thank you bro bro
I like the look of this one also had to make sure that carbine is the right fit which it says it is
good luck removing that gas block pin when swapping to a new handguard/low profile gas block. took me a week of trying until I got it out and it wasnt pretty
Why’d it take you so long?
its a notorious pin to remove if you google m&p sport 2 gas block pin lol, but my particular issue was I couldnt flush the pin with my punch set. It became stuck right before flushing and what ended up working was hitting it the opposite way despite the pin only being able to exit on one side, it loosened the pin enough so that when I went back to normal I was able to get it flush, and within a minute of that it was completely out.
I had my pin out in two hits after spending 5mins trying to find the right punch for the hole. Not sure what you were fighting, but my S&W Sport II was very easy to swap parts on (aside from the delta ring being stiff).
There's TONS of companies making rails and uppers. I use a Centurion C4 rail and I enjoy it (granted I have a quad pic rail, not MLOK).
i switched out the gas block and got a blem geissele mk16 rail. i will say the gas block that comes on the m&p is a mf to get out, took me about an hour.
I am and always will be a shill for Bexar arms handguards, they are fantastic, rigid and lightweight with god tier customer service
Is that pawn and gun in pompano?
Nope. Nice to see another south Florida person in here tho 💪🏾. It’s lucky pawn in Oakland park off commercial near the Publix. Nice selection of rifles, arps, pistols and a few shotguns
We broward babies are a plenty. Nice!
Since you are familiar with area. Do you know of any outdoor ranges besides the one in Kendal? I notice the only ones in Broward I have found are training centers.
Markham park In sunrise. I love markham during the week. People bitch about the RSOs but I go there pretty often they know me there and don’t really bother me too much. I may go Wednesday to shoot my FAL
Are they annoying ? Like will they bother you ? Or as long as you are following range rules and safety guidelines they leave you alone ?
Yeah as Long as you’re safe and keep your firing schedule to like 3-5 second in between shots it’s not really that bad. Personally I like a slower firing schedule because I won’t burn through ammo like I do at gun world
Okay okay. I’d probably go there to zero and sight my AR. I know it’s indoors but I heard apex is a decent range as wellc
Where’s that? I love outdoors. Indoors sucks ass
Yeah I learned how to shoot at outdoor ranges. Thanks to the service lol. Didn’t realized how spoiled I was lmao. All the ranges at fort hood were outdoor. Apex is in Oakland park / pompano like right on the edge. Right next to extreme action park. It’s a newer range just opened last year i think. Pistol and rifle range. 21 lanes. Most advanced they say. They have the moving paper target and some other cool feats
Bro 1200 for an M&P? Gun is like 500 bucks and the sight maybe 250??????
lol, “civilian style AR”
Step one- don't buy any of this shit
Step two, order a rifle from palmetto State for 500 bucks. Send that whore hard as fuck.
Later, buy a bravo company manufacturing upper.
You will have a great rifle.
Funny thing is I should have got the psa they were having a deal a ar kit that had the mlok rail was like 349 and stripped recivere was 49.9 , mag was 12.50 with shipping was gna be 425
Please tell me that $1200 price tag isn't attached to this.
And whoever stuck that vert grip on the side of the handguard behind it needs to be slapped.
