I'm bad at writing under pressure so I kept forgetting to add words/sentences and ended up crossing them out and writing them on top so both my essays looked really messy will this effect my score.
I scribbled out words and rewrote above it or below it depending on the paragraph.
As long as they can decipher it, you can’t get points off for messiness. The graders will try their best to grade it based on the content, not how good it looks. When I scribble something out, I always fix it to the right of the scribbled out part to have more room. You’ll be fine.
For future reference, you're supposed to cross it out and write on a new line. The order of your paragraphs shouldn't matter too much, and that's why every AP rubric allows you to get thesis point with thesis placed anywhere in the essay.
My seminar teacher was a grader and said that if a student's writing is illegible, the grader "elevates" the paper to the next person. Then the table head, then whatever higher position there is in the grading room. They try to give it every chance to be deciphered before throwing it out and giving a low score.
I think you'll be fine. Teachers have probably seen worse in terms of handwriting.
damn, i think i’m screwed, i have barely legible handwriting and idk if anyone will be able to read it
Do you mean writing them overlaid onto the scribbled out writing or above it?
