Does anyone have current resources for free masks? I am organizing with my local mask bloc and we are finding it difficult to find organizations or companies who are willing to donate or sell masks at a discounted price for mutual aid or non-profit type groups. Project N95 is not an option because their program has closed, same with The Peoples PPE. The CDC's free mask page has also been taken off of their website. I have gotten success reaching out to Bonafide masks (donated 500 masks) and I got a response from Well Before (no masks yet). I am also awaiting a response from my local health department and various other companies who sell masks. If anyone has had success with this please share for me and anyone else who is looking for free or discounted masks! thank you :3
I will look into this thank you!
For donations from companies the easiest thing to do is find a local non-profit that will partner with you-it doesn't actually require anything from them, sometimes they want a few masks.
For cheap purchases government auctions are usually the cheapest but can be very very hit or miss because sometimes they get bid up to hell and sometimes they don't.
I also personally guilt tripped my parents into donating a box of auras to us a while ago if you wanna go the emotional manipulation to your family route.
If it wasn’t for my family not able to afford masks and not caring to wear them anyway I would LOL but will certainly check out the auctions. Do you have any links to auction websites? Also other than bonafide and well before I don’t know of any other companies that have a donation program in place or are open to donating to non profits. Do you have any success with any? Thank you so much for the suggestions!
Bonafide and Wellbefore are the two we've gotten them from.
Publicsurplus.com and Govdeals.com are the two I've seen masks on, but I know there's others out there.
Have you looked into the Jackson Safety duckbills? They're 10 cents a piece at Northern Safety and have dropped down to 5 cents a piece in the past. The straps aren't the best (they stretch out easily but you can tie them tighter) but they are a legit N95 mask and are comfortable to wear.
