Aramark’s YosemiteContract Should Have Been Cancelled

Aramark’s Yosemite contract should have been cancelled in 2020 after 2 consecutive years of Marginal Overall Rating Reports from NPS. Three years later, on April 10 2023, the Yosemite Superintendent Cicelly Muldoon adjusted the 2019 AOR score. The Superintendent's reason for adjusting the 2019 AOR was "strong collaboration exhibited by Yosemite Hospitality in a public health crisis'. No other explanation is given.

So…What’s goin’ on? Does your housing suck? Is it like sitting in LA traffic just to get a deal on some groceries outside the park? Does it feel like "accessibility" and "inclusion" are just "buzz words" corporates use to keep the (insert epithet here) in line? This is the place to tell us about it.

If you’re currently working or have worked in Yosemite valley for it’s concessions, this is a place to air it out. However I would ask that you follow a certain format for the sake of keeping things in order. If your complaint is:

HOUSING: "Unit X in huff has had black mold problems and no heat, for X amount of weeks/months". In you have put in maintenance tags, post copies of them here to keep a record of the incidences.

ACCESSABILITY: "I had X accessibility issue on X date in X location", briefly describe issue. Accessibility includes access to resources such as food, transportation or outside park facilities.

TRANSPORTATION: "I experienced this traffic/transportation issue on X date at X location. You are welcome to include wait times for getting around the park to get to work, shuttle busses running late or not at all or no access to the employee after-hours shuttle "59"

It's important to keep the facts straight. I can't make these problems disappear, but once we establish a paper trail for all of the unaddressed problems and prove that they (those essential to running the park) are being neglected, we can then go to the people who do have the power to effect some read change: Once the essential information is provided, you are welcome to express your views on said violations.

I really hope this is going to be a helpful thread and provide some much needed confirmation... You're not alone.
