[Differences between Seagull watches.]

Unless it's a watch sold by Seagull (ie: their AliExpress store, or there are a couple of authentic Seagull dealers), you are not likely getting an "actual" Seagull, for what it's worth.

I can't find it from the top of my head now, but if you search on this sub, you will find people discussing what makes a "genuine" 1963 (there are also YouTube videos about it), and you will find it's rather not straightforward.

Generally speaking the real 1963 doesn't have open back as odd as that might sound, and in terms of what's the difference, well I believe you will always get the genuine ST19 movement, however the construction might be shoddy.

I've heard on this sub stories of people having their watches fine, and others saying they fall apart quite soon, I guess you are just gambling either way (like with other Chinese watches, disclaimer, I have nothing against them).

Also, to note genuine Seagull is a bit more expensive, about 400-500 USD I believe so anything below that is a "tribute".

Anyway, I am currently waiting for the Sugess version myself from AliExpress so I guess fingers crossed.

I don’t think there’s such thing as a “real” 1963. You’re dealing with one or more companies using the same movement and similar fixings otherwise. I went with HKEd. Their 38mm watches with acrylic crystals and closed backs that “look right” are supposedly very similar to the originals. That said, they have lots of choices if you’d like to try other colors.
