So, what do we think? WWE return? Stay in AEW?
If you think WWE return: How you want it, how would you book it? Or just a Legends deal?

He can’t fake CTE induced seizures or bleed for no reason in WWE, so I’d imagine he’ll stay with AEW.
It would be a hilariously damning departure if he went back to WWE. Coffin meet nail type stuff
GTFO
He's going to be a producer in AEW and do matches occasionally
So, "no" to the "yes" movement? ( what if he had a beef with Punk whereupon he could say he "chased" him from one franchise to the other ?)
Kinda dont want him to come back to be another CM Punk and do nothing. He will never be the same as his 2013 run. Thanks Vince..
If he goes back to wwe awesome ,If he says in aew good for him as long as he is happy and is more careful .
I think he stays, from what I've heard he does way too much backstage / developmental stuff. If he goes back to WWE I feel like it's going to say a lot about AEW behind the scenes
He will probably stay in AEW and start a Part-Time schedule, but I would LOVE the retirement tour to come to WWE so we can get a few more dream matches, Gunther, Carmelo Hayes, Ilja Dragunuv, etc.
More than likely will stay in AEW. He has more wrestling freedom and he’s already accomplished so much in WWE that it doesn’t feel like it’s worth going back just to put the new people over. Thought whichever he chooses, I’ll still be excited.
I can see him staying in AEW
Come back home to WWE. It’s what Connor would have wanted.
That's fucking cringe
He should go back to WWE for one last run!
Stay in AEW I find him boring.
Another guy who was too young to see the yes movement.
I am 35, I was down with the Yes Movement. WM 30 was a great end to that….10 years ago. We don’t need a repeat. His AEW run of always winning is boring in my opinion so no I don’t want to see that on WWE. Nice try though.
I'm a far bigger WWE fan than AEW fan, but personally I hope he stays in AEW. For some reason Daniel Bryan never connected with me outside of his Planet's Champion run, but Bryan Danielson, oh my god, every time I see him do anything it's absolutely magical. Promos, matches both long and short, ect, he's my favorite part of AEW
You just know he’s going to make atleast 1 appearance for Wwe before he hangs them up for good. Hell of a wrestler. Top 5 technical wrestlers Bret angle Benoit Bryan
Thats only 3 not 5
I remember him on NXT, never liked the dude idk why
He’s fucking boring. I hope him and Dean Ambrose stay away forever!
I guarantee you're a boring person in real life with no friends.
This must be an AEW burner account.
Stay in AEW
Ok if Daniel Bryan returns to wwe I’m going to lose it in a good way
I wouldn't be surprised if AEW released a few more people just to keep Bryan Danielson in AEW. Why? Because Tony Khan can't book correctly.
Sure, Jan.
It's true though
I'd like to see him back in WWE. Put him on a Roman-level schedule, and have him turn up just to have a banger of a match at a PLE every 3 months

WWE return
I'll bet that he will end his career in AEW.
He left WWE because he wanted to bleed a lot and wrestle on indies. He's done both of those now, maybe he got it out of his system. That being said, with his health issues I don't think it would be wise to make him a full-time WWE superstar.
Somehow I don't think he would want to work in the office. Would he be satisfied as a trainer or producer? I also doubt it.
I don't think there's a space for him in WWE now, and I think leaving in the first place was a mistake.
I'm going to a comic convention in Niagara Falls in June to meet him.
I would.like to get him to sign the autobiography he wrote during his time in WWE.
With him being an AEW wrestler now, it's there any chance.hell delince to sign it?
It’s his autobiography why wouldn’t he signed it?
No
He should retire before he ends up like Mick Foley and can't tie his own shoelaces..
His brain and body has suffered enough,no need to destroy your body for 356 "fans"
Is his body really that beat up?
Neck is questionable at best, he has not slowed down at all in aew..
Forget to count concussions,it's likely that many..
He’s openly staying with AEW
He‘s gonna be an EVP for sure
“EVP”
“Executive Vice President“ in AEW, like Kenny and the Bucks. Or at least he could be appointed head of Creative.
Cody vs Bryan WILL put bums in seats.
I would pay to see that
I love Bryan but he’s not coming back lol. He’ll do the HOF and MAYBE one match at a Wrestlemania but that’s years from now.
The way it’s looking years from now may not be an option
I guess it's the right time for returning.
He will probably end up in the same position as AJ and Nakamura, but at the moment WWE is peaking and is just done with Roman's storyline so the time is right.
He needs to get back with ecofriendly heel gimmick and he's ready for a Cody feud
Honestly it’d be the best thing for him, besides one off “dream matches” with random Japanese wrestlers every 6 months, aew has squandered him
And his body
He’s big on giving back , I could see him going back to WWE for a chance to wrestle some of the NXT talent and teach at the performance center .
Jerk comment of the day
He has nothing to gain from going back. He already went over Evolution to win one of the biggest Wrestlemania main events of all time. He doesn't seem like a guy who chases paychecks, and TK can definitely afford to pay him well anyway. Nor does he want the typical E schedule.
And WWE has nothing to gain from having him back. They just crowned a new face of the company, they have incredible talent flourishing under a new and highly successful Chief of Creative, and they're not lacking in backstage vets with the likes of HBK, Regal, and Punk (yes I said it, he can be a good influence when he wants to play ball).
The only possible reason Bryan goes back is if TK doesn't renew his contract and HHH gives him a part-time semi-wrestling role with an easy schedule, and I can't see either happening.
I guess he's gonna end his career at AEW. He did promise his daughter that he would spend more time with her so I presume retirement is not far
Mate now Vince is gone lots of them will come back to WWE if given the chance
Yeah but Bryan was pretty good with Vince I believe. So this wouldn‘t be the reason for him to come back.
This
Bro gets to wrestle who he wants, how he wants, wherever he wants. His passions align with an independent spirit and the money AEW adds to that, its best for him and heck best for Pro wrestling.
Someone else has already won the jerk comment of the day on this post but this statement blows that comment out of the water.
Genuine question who in wwe fits that description? 🤣
I think he’s describing himself 😂
I think he will take time away and at least semi retire or fully retire in ring. Where I think he might come back to WWE for is a legends deal or a backstage role as an agent/producer or trainer. I think one of those roles would be something he would love to do especially in NXT.
He's said many times, he's retiring. It's time for him to go home and just be a father.
Hes said that hes never retiring. Hes said hes going to retire from full time wrestling and will wrestle until he dies. Literally.
Would be pretty big for him IMO if he could end up working alongside HBK. I mean Shawn trained him. I feel like in the ring, they are pretty like-minded.
Nah I think he’s staying. I’m highly sure after WrestleDream he’ll work a more part time schedule and work majority of the time as a backstage producer.
I think if he returns he will get the same treatment as Styles and Nakamura.
AEW is a sinking ship doubt he stays
lol yeah man it’s not like people said that for TNA for 20 years straight yet they’re still here. AEW will be just fine if TNA can survive that long.
TNA doing a PPV called "Hard to Kill" upon it's rebirth as TNA is just peak and no one can convince me otherwise.
TNA could survive the nuclear Holocaust
It did 🤣 and its name was Dixie Carter.
Wasn't he supposed to be retiring? If I remember correctly, he repeatedly said before that this is his last contract and would be spending time at home
There is no room or need for him in WWE. If anything the E needs to lose some talent.
In this current era of WWE, they seem to be more open to having guest wrestlers from other promotions as well as mentioning other promotions. I hope it can reach a point where they'd be open to having Danielson make appearances and maybe even have matches with the likes of Gunther and Ilja Dragonuv
He said it himself that he promised his daughter he’d retire by the time she hit a certain age. She’s either almost that age or at that age.
He should go back to WWE when he goes in the HOF. That’s it. Maybe a suprise appearance here and there.
Overrated bum should retire
I think he could come to WWE, if he wanted to of course.
WWE is a bit oversaturated with main event caliber talent right now. It’d be cool to see Bryan return, but wouldn’t be too upset if he didn’t.
Maybe new era will consider the one night only attraction matches
Is that a bad thing? I loved the days of Cena, Batista, Edge, Orton, HHH, HBK, Taker, and many others.
Problem is, after the hype for his return dies down, he might get stuck in the midcard or written off the show completely if he doesn’t fit into the story.
He shouldn’t be doing too much anyway, same as Edge. Unfortunately I don’t think he agrees, same as Edge
Bryan danielson might retire he said in an interview
Basement will turn on him instantly and will come up with some bullshit reasonings like "he will back up Laurinaitis"
I just think AEW will offer him more prominence & longevity in a backstage role than WWE would. They already have a billion former talents that are producers etc.
Stay in AEW, get paid, work part time, continue to be the leader you are in the back & transition to a major role in the back. Fairytale last run in the E would be dope tho but I think AJ deserves to have that eventually.
AEW has a lighter schedule watch him work a few guys a year if he gets bored with not enough ring time he might beg his daughter to let him work more
I doubt he'll go back to WWE until he retires for good.
Nxt
Enecksty
He said that he was going to stop being a full-time performer later this year (I was at the Collision where he announced this).
He could always change his mind, but I think AEW is a better fit for him. I'd love to see him wrestle guys in WWE again, but he has a lot more freedom to wrestle whoever he wants if he's in AEW or the independents, even on a limited schedule.
But if/when he eventually retires completely from the ring, he'd do well in WWE as a trainer or match producer
He'll remain at AEW. There some heroic aspect of trying save a sinking ship. Also money would be better. Tony already told he would make Danielson his next in line.
AEW can keep his weird ass. He's one of the most overrated wrestlers ever.
This is true, but in the interview, he also said he wants to retire at Wrestledream since it's in his hometown... that would require him to sigh an extension. But anything is possible.
Fantasy booking, BCC all come back to WWE together as their AEW characters for a short run. Have them be heels and they could face off against babyface super team of Cody, Seth and Roman. And then we get the SHIELD triple threat
Naaah. Dont want him in WWE. He’s useless in there
How could somebody at his caliber of in-ring ability, mic work, and incredible history in the company ever be useless? He had one of the great WWE careers ever.
Daniel Bryan vs Gunther please
Hopefully he retires. Dont wanna see brain damageson in wwe again. Good riddance
found nigel mcguinness’ burner account guys
I know he can pull a lot more strings in AEW, but man I would really love him back in the WWE. If HHH made him a Lesnar-like deal, maybe something could be possible. Idk, but just imagine Bryan vs Gunther, Bryan vs Chad Gable, Daniel Bryan vs Bobby Lashley, Bryan vs Dragunov. So many dream matches.
I liked the eco championship. Idk if it’s a good time for him to come back. He’s a small guy who makes the bigger guys look silly and a lot of his skillset ends up being Golu Spirit Bomb crowd give me your energy stuff.
Honestly Bryan could be AEW’s HHH once he retires full time, if Tony would loosen the reins and let him become the booker. Obviously not comparing one companies success vs the other, just the fact that Bryan could be the change AEW needs.
Supposedly the plan is for Danielson to take over booking Collision after going part time in the ring
Being a successful pro wrestler is not a guarantee he’ll be a successful booker
No but we've seen a small taste of it when Vince ley him run smackdown for a while
Considering Danielson wants time at home, I don’t see this happening.
aew to lose both cody, cm punk and then danielson would be really tough to recover from.
He hasn’t, Christian hasn’t, Jeff hasn’t
Only 3 former WWE champ has been AEW world champ
If AEW is smart they'll over pay to keep this man and attempt to resurrect that show. If Bryan is smart he'll jump on the WWE bandwagon
Bryan is already a guaranteed HOF. I don’t think he needs to do anything.
I don't see him in WWE for one reason. An office job.
Bryan Danielson could legit become the number 2 guy in AEW under Tony Khan and Khan would be foolish not to make him that. If WWE wants to make an offer, basically fire whatever executive and make Bryan that. I think the schedule is a positive too.
But yeah, I just don't think WWE can offer him the type of position AEW could. Now maybe Bryan just wants to wrestle every now and then and be on a part time deal, but I also think he enjoys contributing. He could contribute that way in WWE but again, could he be as high up the ladder?
WWE part time, probably working behind the scenes with Regal in NXT. A Hall of Fame induction at some stage too.
He should beat cody rhodes and bring back the eco friendly title 🧌
His stay in aew has been forgettable.
Have you like, WATCHED any of it? Saying it’s not memorable is blasphemous if you’re even like a fraction of a fan of Danielson
Yes and still forgettable. People can have different opinions
Shads kid will empty his wallet and get on his knees to beg to stay.
He said he promised his kids he’s gonna leave or some thing to her affect
He said he would cut back and stop being a full-time performer.
He's also said he targets Wrestle Dream this year as his last match as one.
He's probably staying in AEW. He's one of TK's most trusted hands backstage. He has no good reason to go back to WWE, he's done everything there is to do and he seems to be having the time of his life before he semi-retires this year.
He will definitely return for the Hall of Fame. Whilst doing that, he could have 1 final run in the ring before retiring for good.
Oh hell definitely go in, but I don't see it happening in this decade at least.
He's never going back to WWE.
He will 100% be back in WWE sometime.
Fingers crossed he doesn’t
Why not?
In the same interview the news about his contract status comes from he talks about wanting to end his full-time run at the Tacoma Dome for Wrestle Dream this year. So even if his contract is up it sounds like he'd want to, at a minimum, be on a per appearance deal or short extension to finish up there.
I can see him maybe coming back to WWE for a Wrestlemania match to put over a great technician as his WWE heir apparent. Dude really does seem adamant about wanting to help the business as a whole. But I don't think he'll ever work more than one-off stuff for them again.
He'll go back to be inducted but he's already done everything in WWE. He's already treated like Tony's heir apparent and he probably would want to help AEW in whatever way he can.
Thanks for the info!!
His job is to lose to all the free agents
If he's not going to be a full time wrestler, I think he could work with AEW AND WWE. Doing occasional WWE appearances with a legends contract and occasional AEW shows while continuing to act as a consultant for TK. He's openly stated that he never wants to fully retire. He's also close with the higher ups in both companies. If anyone can bridge the gap between both companies it's Bryan
I've heard good things about him, would be a good pick up for NXT.
Maybe team him up with The Miz so he can learn the WWE style
I don't know. He's such a B tier talent.
Seems more like a B+ player at most
Too small
If only he was wild and young..
I dunno. He seems a bit of a vanilla midget.
I think he needs to team up the miz will be a very good coach
Great idea. Let Miz teach him the ropes.
This made my day 😂
Extends AEW deal very short term so he can do Wembley, then leaves. Comes back to WWE as an occasional Big 4 PLE match participant and eventual HOF inductee but otherwise stays home. Maybe same type of schedule as Cena has now.
I thought it was implied he’s stopping full-time but will stay around to wrestle periodically because he can’t help himself and wants to wrestle so many people still.
Also he helps with behind the scenes stuff running the AEW shows so I don’t see him leaving anytime soon but there have been bigger surprises.
I just don’t see it happening. Him and Tony are close. Like, if I die, I told my Dad to give the company to you type of close. That was legit said.
He needs to go back to WWE for one last run and a HoF induction
He's pretty over in AEW. Plus, he's gained a lot of favor from Tony Khan to get a lot of his dream matches. I think he's done everything he can do in WWE but I wouldn't ruin rule out a Legends contract. Although it's more likely he'd strike a part-time deal with Tony Khan.
He’ll definitely come back at one point for a surprise Royal Rumble moment or HOF induction.
Non exclusive Legends contract similar to Jake Roberts
What did that deal entail?
Think he end his wrestling career with AEW. There no bad blood between Danielson and WWE, but think WWE schedule plus his health make it seem more likely he sticks with AEW
At this point he can make his schedule anywhere he goes
Zero chance he goes back to WWE. I would love it, though. I need Daniel Bryan vs Gunther and Daniel Bryan vs Ilja Dragunov. I need it.
Hooray, though, more of Bryan Danielson vs......Will Ospreay. 😒😴 I guess he wants to clown around and act like the circus tricks and no selling is what wrestling is now. He really does not deserve the amount of talent he has, as Indy minded as he is. Somebody who respects the business should have the natural aptitude he has, because he doesn't want to put it to good use anymore.
Obviously it's not IT since he was very young but Walter and Dragon had a match in 2008 if you haven't seen it.
He’s jumping ship for sure. Unless Tony wants to double his salary or something outrageous
WWE, part time
He's gonna go back to wwe and wrestle tbar for 2 months
I miss Cesaro...
Look I love WWE
But AEW def showed what people are capable of when they leave WWE and have more creative control
Cesaro, D Bry, Andrade, Cody, etc
But I think now Papa H would handle talent better
It's his last year as a full time wrestler I think. So I could see him not re-signing, but still wrestling for them, going to the indies maybe, and new Japan, possibly even a WWE return for a match or something. He could be a free agent, but I could also see him staying and helping backstage.
If I’m not mistaken, when he left he said that he was told the door was always open for him so there’s a chance! Two Survivor Series returns, two years in a row? 😮💨
Wishful thinking he goes back to wwe for a final run..,but probably super low chance of happening
If he does one last minor run in wwe, him vs Dragunov would go so hard
Lol. Why would he go back to wwe? He and hhh don’t get along…
An HHH and CM Punk were best buds?
Bryan hasn’t burned every other bridge in wrestling. Cm punk has to play nice. Danielson doesn’t. Bc he isn’t a narcissistic asshole.
Regal is HHH’s right hand man, he and Bryan love each other
I mean, I hope he goes back to WWE, because I would fly my happy ass wherever WWE wanted me to go for the opportunity to see Danielson vs. GUNTHER or Rhodes. But my actual answer is that, more than anything, he should go wherever makes him happiest.
He literally says in the interview he wants to wrestle his last full time match at AEW's WrestleDream in October lol.
He's re-signing without a doubt.
He’s moved on from WWE
He doesn't need to come back full time. Just a rumble to mania run and put over someone. It would be fun.
No way he’s coming back he’s at the tail end of his career and is making a small fortune to do whatever he likes in a lighter schedule
And he’d almost certainly make a larger fortune with the same or an even lighter schedule in WWE.
No lol. AEW pay extremely well especially respected workers like Danielson and he pretty much has any job he wants in AEW. He's pretty much Tony's Right Hand.
No way he gets a lighter schedule in WWE no one is getting a Brock schedule outside of Roman especially now Vince isn’t signing the cheques. Danielson isn’t the big box office of a Roman or Brock.
I have zero interest in him coming back, he did too much fed badding and he’ll bring back all the neckbeard marks that left wwe’s fanbase
Daniel Bryan Danielson did no such thing
this is such a neckbeard comment lol
If you say so
Would love to see him go part-time in WWE, and have some great matches against Gunther, Ilja, Cody, the like. Eventually retire at Wrestlemania and go into the HOF. But I suspect that he’ll stay with AEW in some capacity, either as a wrestler or backstage, and that’s probably what’s best for him and his family
I’d be baffled if he wouldn’t return, if only to work with and out over the massive amount of brilliant talent they have now.
The main issue is that WWE wouldn’t allow him to wrestle these dumb strong style matches he loves so much, so that would be an issue.
If Bryan could learn to live with the fact he can’t wrestle like he’s 20 and on the indies anymore, he could easily go down to NXT and be their flagship guy.
AEW is deader the a door nail.
go down to NXT and be their flagship guy
Why the hell would he do that!?
The only wrestlers in the world who want to go to NXT are completely unknown.
Why would he go to nXt? He lives in Arizona….
What massive talent is there in WWE that wasn’t there when he left? There’s no one of any interest in WWE anymore.
GUYS IT'S TONY"S ACCOUNT
Wyatt family is getting back together
