What is the best island/spots for snorkeling? Have been to Maui and was very impressed with Kapalua Bay. Want to go with husband and open to any island with the best snorkeling.

This will be our 2nd time in Kauai, last time we stayed at Kauai Shores, it's cute! My friend works for Marriot so she can likely give me a discount for Sheraton Kauai Coconut. The difference will be $700. Is the Sheraton worth the extra money? We usually try to stay as cheapest as possible. Is the bed a lot more comfortable?

Is the pool a lot nicer? My husband can't swim(ironic since we go to Hawaii almost once a year), so he won't go into the ocean but he'll go in the pool.

My husband and I are visiting Kaua’i in October for 3 days. I am a vegetarian and my husband is not. What are must try places that have options for both of us that locals enjoy? We have both been to Oahu and Maui multiple times and excited to experience Kaua’i for the first time.

We are very fortunate to be staying at a family members beach front condo and have a car available to us so we do not mind spending a little more on activities since we aren’t paying for lodging and car rentals. We just don’t do boats or helicopters.

We plan on doing the mountain tubing on morning but other than that don’t know much about the island. we don’t mind driving anywhere on the island.

I’m Dutch and visiting Hawaii next week. After the game today, I am trying to plan where I am going to watch the next game. Will be staying in Waikiki specifically, but looking for anywhere in Honolulu. Game is at 9am, but are there any bars in the area where I could find a crowd of soccer (and/or Dutch) fans watching the game vs England?

I'm planning a 4-5 day trip to Maui and wondering if weekends typically have more events and shows compared to weekdays. In past trips to places like Maui, I noticed a lot more happening Friday through Sunday. Is this the case in Maui as well? This will help me plan my itinerary.

Here’s my understanding: when you’re done for the day, the shuttle drops you back off in Hanalei at the Waipa Park and Ride lot that it initially picked you up at.

From there, is there an additional shuttle that will take you to Princeville? If so, what locations does it stop at? Is it free?

Hi all, my husband and I are visiting Kauai in December and are hoping to get some professional couples photos done. I've searched "Kauai photography" on Instagram to find people and a lot of their pricing starts at $850. In no way do I want to undermine their work or say they are not worth the price, I just don't think we can swing almost 1k for couples photos alone haha. Any recommendations for editorial style photography starting around $600-650? edit-price range

Early today, policemen were in Aqua Palms Waikiki, and there was a dead body (man) near the pool area (as seen in our room window). The body's gone now, and the hotel is draining the pool and cleaning the area as I post this. My 9-year saw the whole scene, including the dead body, crime scene tapes, etc, and was actually the one who informed us about it.

We've been waiting and searching the news all over for it, as our child has been asking questions and is scared. We'd like to process this with her properly, but would like to know some details so we don't just make things up. Anyone here knows anything?

First time visiting Hawaii and will be staying in Oahu. What’s the best places to snorkel? I know Hanauma Bay reservations are difficult and sell sells out fast, but I saw a hanauma bay tour you can buy available? Or is the tour just for basically for transportation and gear?

Other than hanauma, what snorkel places do you recommend?

Also, is there any specific snorkel tours you recommend?

Im struggling bc there is so much we want to do and it’s hard to narrow it down. We are adventurous but within limits. I get seasick/motion sick and fear sharks lol. Other than that, he would love to hike, eat great food, and have great experiences without overbooking ourselves. Thank you!!!

My credit card got skimmed while we were vacationing on the Big Island last week.

Obviously this can happen anywhere.

In this case it seems to have happened at a beach parking lot at Waialea Beach. I used this card at the parking machine there. Thinking back that’s a great spot to put one. No cameras, no security, people coming and going but not too crowded.

I have email alerts setup on my CC whenever there’s a transaction and discovered it when someone tried to reserve a hotel two days later.

Anyhow, had a great trip despite this! ✌️

Hello! I’m headed to the big island for a week, we are staying in Hilo for the first half and then Kona for the second half. We have a few tours planned, and I am most excited for Mauna Kea summit stargazing. I’ve read through the sub, but just looking for some tips! Can we stay at the visitor center as late as we like?

I'm visiting August and trying to put together my itinerary. I'll be there 7 days. Anyone have reccomendations for the best food? Specific companies you would recommend for: Manta ray snorkeling Daytime snorkeling Kayaking Spear fishing (is this even allowed?) Coffee tour Anything else you think is a must do!

I will be in Oahu in about two weeks. I visited the USS Arizona Memorial last time I was there but did not have the time to tour the USS Missouri. When I checked online, I saw that there are three different ticket packages. Which one is considered the best all-around tour?

I am aware that the ship is 861 feet long. Do you have full access from bow to stern? I also assume it is like other World War II battleships, where you can access decommissioned anti-aircraft guns, etc. I am just looking for fun photos on board.

My parents lived on Oahu for a number of years and they never got to ride the Skyline though they did see the construction all the time. I'm kind of a public transit nerd, so I wanted to take them on the Skyline.

Is there a route anyone could recommend where I drive and park at one end (I know, yuck, driving to public transit) and then ride out to something then ride back? It seems like Aloha Stadium Swap Meet might be a good starting point, then ride to terminus and go to... Aunty's Hot Pot? Is it safe to walk from Kualaka'i East Kapolei Station to the mall where Aunty's is?

Also, my mom has a bad knee that gives her problems on stairs. I heard Skyline only has escalators up... is the walk down hard?
