This may be a dumb noob question, but how are you supposed to clean the infotainment screen if it never shuts off while you’re in the car? I’ve tried looking up the answer in the owner’s manual and on Google/Reddit, but I just can’t figure it out.

About a month ago, I received a notification that my 2021 ID.4 1st had an available OTA update. When I got home, I parked and dutifully initiated the update, which took some time. Upon completion of the update, which it stated was successful, however, it still says I'm running the exact same version of the software (3.1). Has this happened to anyone else?

Is there any way to update software on a 2021 ID.4 past version 3.1 in North America?

My steering wheel often creaks like an old wooden ship going over waves when I'm below about 20 mph. It's been getting louder over the months and increases when it rains, car wash or just is humid out. I took it in, they acknowledged the noise but told me " it' a feature of the car". And that I only notice it because the car is quiet. He then pulled another one up and showed me it's steering wheel creaks as well.

Is it true? All of you are driving around with creaking steering and it's just me that finds it annoying?

I've had a new 2023 ID4 for a few weeks now, but the user manual has still not downloaded to the infotainment system. Every time I start driving, it says it's downloading, then a minute or two later says the download was canceled without giving any reason. Any idea how to fix this?

Just recently picked up a 2024 AWD Pro S last week. Been trying out the features a bit and the travel assist. It was working find until I tried it again today. Each time we came up behind a stopped car it slowed very nicely to almost a stop then it would SLAM on the brakes. Almost like it was tripping the maneuver breaking. Anyone had an experience like this? Also the automatic wippers appear to only work sometimes. Not sure if this may be an issue with the front camera of sorts. Any insight?

I recently got new tires. I had Hankooks from the factory. I have only had the tires on the car for less than a week. It seems like I lost a little range and efficiency. Has anyone else experienced the same?

To be clear, since if have got some of these responses. I am NOT talking about the OEM Alenza, I bought Alenza Ultras.

Sorry if this is well known, but had this car for a few months, but never saw anything on this, so figured I'd let others know. The center console is chilled. IDK if it is all models or what, but thought that is a great way to put small leftovers or a non-alcoholic beverage of your choice.

So far all I've been cooling is baby wipes and USB-C charging cables...

While I have some experience driving a hybrid for a few months, I am new to the world of EVs. However, I have always had positive experiences with VW vehicles in the past.

I am pretty set on purchasing an ID.4, though I have not yet had the opportunity to test drive one. My decision is based on recommendations, research, and my initial impressions. Initially, I had planned to avoid first-generation models due to potential teething issues. However, after spending time on this forum, I am realizing the other years have their own unique issues, so I’m gathering information to make an informed decision.

I have a limited budget, aiming to utilize the tax credit and pay mostly in cash. Currently, I am interested in a dealership-owned 2023 ID.4 S with 696 miles priced at $28K.

I would greatly appreciate any insights or advice on what you wish you had known to look at or asked the dealer before purchasing your car. Are there any aspects of the vehicle or ownership experience that you would have handled differently in hindsight?

Not sure what point in CA is no longer No. Cal? Salinas, Fresno? Thoughts?

Also, anyone find a great place to Finance the Residual Amount and add Ext. Warranty?

Do you always charge your car to 80%?

I was around 29% at home so I decided to charge it up. Got to around 50% / 190 miles of charge and thought that's plenty enough to get around for the next couple days. So I stopped charging.

Is this ok for the battery to not fill it up to 80% per charge? I'd probably have to charge the battery more frequently with this method, but I don't know any other cons to charging this way.

I have seen two posts within 9 hours, one asking for a charger recommendation and the other asking about steering wheels pealing.

Both of these topics (and many more) have been covered ad nauseam in this sub. A simple search could return you IMMEDIATE answers to many of your queries.

Hello fellow ID4 owners … as title states I think it would be awesome if that was possible. Get the range of RWD (80% of time) but switch to AWD when needed.. such as winter ,towing etc

Could a software update provide that functionality or is it a hardware setup limitation.

With the May VW factory purchase incentives ending, where can I find the June incentives for the VW ID4? I checked the VW website, but it only lists a few lease and APR deals. I know that's not comprehensive because, in May, dealers offered me additional "cash" incentives that weren't on the site. For example, a dealer offered me $5000 VW cash for the 2024 AWD Pro and $7000 for the 2024 AWD Pro S, on top of dealer discounts and federal/state incentives. Any insights on a definitive place to find factory incentives or does the info just leak out as people report what dealers tell them?

Hi all I’m looking looking to add a roof rack to our ID.4. Have others bought installed a roof rack - are there non VW options that work and look good?

So I LOVE this car, but the payment is a bit higher than I would like to continue with. I owe about 39k and all instant offers standing around 30k

I know “its a depreciating asset” and I receiced the tax credit, m not arguing this fact, but has anyone sold theirs in a short window and not taken - huge loss? Would love some insight. Im in no way struggling king to make the payment but shifting to WFH its just hard to justify!
