Nothing looks broken, and it pops back in nicely, just doesn’t work. Is there any way to fix it?
Dude want risk >100usd whatever equipment to save 2usd buying another cable
I really dont get what some people think
That's because most people don't think. At all. Of course the obvious solution is to just buy a new cable instead of repair this one.
Because people don't understand the risk
Frankly every new USB development is crap.
Frankly every new USB development is crap.
??? How is that regarding this post?
“ Nothing looks broken” says the guy holding something that is obviously broken...
Fixing that is like un-stripping the threads of a screw that is so smooth it looks like a nail. It’s literally the most fundamental part of the device’s construction that failed.
It is like losing a finger and trying to just stick it back on. Like the finger, it is possible to reattach port but it requires a surgeon and will never be the same. Which is worth it for finger but not cable.
Just buy a new hand. It comes with the fingers.
Buy a new cable wtf
He's Dead Jim
Let it go, let it goooooooooooo...
Christ, mate. Just get a new one
All the connectors are ripped off, it's not going to work anymore.
If you truly want to fix this, such as to use a device with a hardwired cable, then you are going to at minimum need to chop off this broken connector and solder a new one on. Though I can imagine that you would have to validate what the cable was initially configured for to prove the correct resistor and layout.
Trying to save that cord is going to cost you a lot of money.
No, it can't get fixed. This gets asked so often this should be in the FAQ in the side bar.
Buy a new cable. Even if you could fix it - are you really going to risk destroying a few hundred dollar device instead of getting a new cable for a few bucks?
Being down this route for micro USB cable. NOT WORTH IT (assuming you have the tools for microscopic soldering
im pretty sure its one of those power supplies with non removeable cables that come with handheld devices(steam deck, switch, etc). So person cannot just replace a cable somehow
Not worth it
Yh. Buy a new one
Buy a new cord
don't let them discourage you, there's a secret trick very few people know. I cannot reveal it at this time but you may google it
The trick is buying two of them so that you have a spare.
“Pops back in nicely, just doesn’t work”… you’re lucky none of the pins shorted and damaged something. With overmoulding at the connector it’s going to be a mess to fix. Just get a new cable.
