A city full of history. It certainly has its shortcomings but its one of the most interesting cities I've ever visited.
when was it, you visited? if i may?
Alright Christopher Walken
This is Aleppo. Forefront is Saint George's Church with Al Tawheed Mosque in the background.
Edit: Another , first picture of the album.
israel destroyed the oldest church in Palestine last year :( Including the oldest masjid.
what does that have to do with anything though
Is that Orthodox Church?
It might be, but there are different denominations in the Levant.
I doubt it looks like that anymore.
Restoration after the earthquake went super fast and they are back open again!
What?
Edit: im so dumb it took me a while to realize that you wrote "AL" and not "AI". As in artificial intelligence.
It’s literally fine
Doesn‘t look like the war-torn hellscape you‘d expect.
Yea, as a Syrian I must say, it's beautiful. But let's not overstate that, assad is a terrorist fuck face
Damascus and Latakia were relatively untouched by the war.
The war reached a stalemate and that’s evident by Syria being allowed back into the Arab League. Reconstruction efforts in most of the country has been going on at least since before covid.
There are still hotspots of violence here and there, and Syria isn’t as crime free as it war pre-war. But it is generally much safer now than 10 years ago.
The war was mostly kept out of Damascus, at least compared to the other major cities.
This actually looks beautiful
This honestly looks awesome the fuck are you talking about
We agree that the images uploaded with gorgeous lighting is really just ragebait right?
OP must be trolling
Beautiful
Remove the cars, plant a couple of trees, and you have an amazing city ready to go
I could spend the rest of my life living here, exploring here, and studying the history of this place and be perfectly happy.
This is beautiful, man.
Looks a lot better than I thought it would by now.
Look neat actually
Aleppo is so pretty!
How is this "Hell"?
Aaaaaaaaaa a chruch and a mosque together
Am I the only one who thinks that looks cool?
Probably how all of Syria could look like America didn’t decide to send them so much “freedom”
.
Believe it or not there are a lot of Christians in Syria and the Levant.
I think he meant that the church looks like a mosque and was not trying to be offensive
Eastern Orthodox churches in the former areas of the Eastern Roman Empire are domed, symbolising heaven. The design is based on old pagan tombs, as many churches started off as tombs of martyrs.

These are two seperate buildings.
As others have said this is St George's Church Aleppo
Breaking News: Christians exist. Yes, even in Syria. In 2011, they formed about 10% of the population. Now it's much less, but there still are plenty.
The fuck is up with people like you?
The minarets are part of a mosque that is right next to the church.
