Naturehike Cloud Up 2P (New, Lighter Version???)

This isn’t the point of your post but I have the Bryce 2P from 2022. I get a lot of condensation when I use it and it’s easily 4lbs. I also learned I prefer 2door tents. All that is to say that I don’t think the Bryce 2P is anything worth waiting for. But if this is for 2 people I recommend looking at budget tents comparable to the copper spur or REI half dome.

I have the 20D and the 10D UL version of the Cloud Up 2. The 10D version really is substantially lighter. It’s only about 4oz heavier than the Big Agnes Fly Creek that it’s roughly based on, and I got it on sale on Amazon for $179. The Cloud Up 2 is actually “full freestanding” where the Fly Creek is “semi freestanding”. The 10D version has a different pole set, the zippers are lighter, and is missing a lot of tie down points and extras that are on the 20D version. They really did try to design a UL version and for the price I think they succeeded.

the ultralight USED to be available on amazon for $200. amazon replaced it with a different product (cloud wing) when I ordered it. had to send it back.

i'd love to see some reviews on the cloud up 2 UL. for the price on naturehikes website, you can go lanshan 2 pro or spend a bit more for the xmid 2 if you use trekking poles.

I've got the similar Cloud Wing 2 10D, it's a decent spacious single wall tent below 1 kilo. Very thin material so you've got to take good care unpacking and packing it. Very easy to pitch.

Hi I been using it for about 2 years I have ~60 nights on it. Mainly below tree-line in the white mountains. So cant attest for performance in wind.

The material is very delicate but held up so far. I do use it with the ground cloth.

I have the non-UL version of the 1P which is very similar.

- I'm used to car camping tents so this one is very dainty to me. Not sure I'd want the even lighter version.

- It is free-standing but you really need the guylines to pull the tent sides out and keep the rainfly off the body.

- You can see in the pictures that the door rakes forward a lot. When it's raining, or even with dew, water will get inside the tent... right were you put your head and gear. Blows my mind that this isn't brought up more in reviews.

- I got mine on sale for about $100 (2P was just a little more). I think it's the best you can get at that price. For $260, I'd research a lot of other tents before buying. I do think it'd be tough to find another ~3lb double-wall tent for less than $300 though.

Just FYI - From what I could see, the Paria and NatureHike are the same tent. Like made in the same factory with different color and label. They are too similar, imo. I've seen the NatureHike sold with a different brand name and it even had the exact same color options.

I bought it - cloudup2, but trip still to plan. Just the weight and the cost weight up to the use im planning to do with it. Its a nice tent, in my opinion

Ive had a 10d for a few years .used it on trip last year around kearsage pass .very light and packs down tiny if you keep poles separate .never had it in heavy rain but I don't think it would go to well .one afternoon a storm looked like it was rolling in but just got large spits .each big drop that hit out layer I could then see small droplets on the inside of the outer layer. None got into the fly area but a full on storm might have been a worry

The hydrostatic head rating is a good bit lower for the ultralight. I'm not sure if I trust it.

I have a regular Naturehike Cloudup 3p. Yeah it's heavy but I do use it when my kids want to go backpacking and it's not an issue since they don't like to go more than a few miles. Still, for a budget tent it's not bad. The groundsheet is way too heavy so I ditched it for some polycro I had.

I use a backpack from them and like it. Was thinking of getting one of these as my next budget tent but I’ll likely wait to and look for some reviews on the new ultralight version

You can watch a ton of Youtube reviews if you go by ‘Naturehike Cloud Up 10D tent’. It’s a very good tent for the money, surprisingly well made. I have one of these and really happy.

My only complaint is lack of the leg room, I’m 192cm tall and fit there ‘just’ despite bathtub floor being 210cm - sloped walls steal some space.

Rainfly is very decent, holds typical rain no issues. Poles are good, all seams sealed and well done. I was choosing between this tent and Nemo Hornet and really not much difference in quality, with Hornet being x2 the price.

Also some people hate front entrance, I’m ok with this.

I have the Cloud UP 2P UL 10D. I had to order it on Aliexpress, but that doesn't really bother me. Being perfectly honest it's a stopgap until Trekkertent finishes making the Drift 1 I have on order. I'm really impressed so far, though I've only used it for one night plus a rain test in my garden. The weight, ventilation and stability are all great, but I have the same reservations others in the thread do about its ability to resist very heavy rain.

It's also very close to transparent. You can make out the equipment and occupation even in daylight. Privacy is close to nonexistent, which isn't ideal if you pitch early and care about that sort of thing.

I have one. Lovely tent. It is UL targeted so not as robust and I wouldn't take it out above 30mph gusts or heavy downpours but for most 3 season hikes it's great. It fit me (5'10 M) and my girlfriend (5'5 F) snug but fine. They've updated it as the CloudWing 2 which is 300g heavier but seems to fix one main issue - width at the peak.

My other tent is a DCF 2P and they both serve a purpose.
