US Open Cup Round 4 Results and Round of 16 Matchups
US Open CupAnd a 7th is against an mlsnp team who has (shockingly) knocked out two USLC teams as well.
It’s going to be such a fun round all around imo. This tournament has already been nuts so far
Please New Mexico, you are our only hope.
We lucked out for the next round. Cos shits the bed again, but either way, we have a pretty decent chance for the next round...
- MLS = 6-2 (4-2 v USLC; 2-0 v L1)
- USLC = 9-11 (2-4 v MLS; 1-0 v L1; 0-1 v NP)
- NP = 1-0 (1-0 v ULSC)
- L1 = 0-3 (0-2 v MLS; 0-1 v USLC)
I still remember beating the Sounder in Al Lang years ago, hopefully do the same against Dallas.
Just remember to play the last 10 minutes of the game and it should be fine.
Come on Loudoun shipping containers show LA what Pegasi are good at
Sucks that you guys have to come all the way out to California again.
They play OCSC again on 5/25, so it's kind of convenient.
I’m OOTL. Where did the Loudon “Shipping Containers” joke come from?
Segra field is built out of unpainted shipping containers. Everything is shipping containers
It was nice that it wasn't a blowout for MLS vs USL, aside from Atlanta playing a League 1 team of course
Rsl didn't start their top guys against us. If they had started Chicho and MacMath, I don't think the scoreline would have favored us...
In the end, that doesn't matter. The record will show NMU beating an MLS not NMU beating an MLS without their starting XI. Take the W and celebrate 🥳
I would have rather them sent Real Monarchs in their place instead of them not taking it seriously
We’ve been so hit or miss this season that I don’t know what to expect come may 21st despite our recent good form. The teams I feel optimistic about are Sac, Tampa, and especially NM because they can’t afford to shit the bed against a next pro team.
Can someone explain the open cup to me please? Is it supposed to be like the UCL and Europa?
It's closer to the FA Cup in England
Great picture by the way how you put the league each team is in, very well done
Thanks. It's a hobby of mine. I do it for every league in the US.
Yoo random question, but do you know where I could potentially find salaries of each league?
For sure! I actually plan on playing professional myself and these Reddit posts always make it so easy to understand
Who has the best chance for a Round of 16 Cupset?
I'm torn between Sacramento and Tampa Bay. They're both playing at home against bottom of the MLS.
I think Charleston, Sacramento, and Tampa Bay all have a great shot at winning.
Charleston definitely have a good chance. Atlanta is about to go thru the ringer with 3 games in a week before playing the Battery, so I’d expect a lot of reserves/bench players to be in their squad for that game
Not sure how Phoenix is doing in USL this year, but the Sounders are likely to heavily rotate again for that game
lol if you don’t think Charleston is beating Atlanta United 💀can’t play reserves and get past the best team in the league
True. You're all really good this year but you did have trouble with Tormenta ...
Half the lineup weren’t the regular starters fwiw
I think Charleston, Tampa, Sac, and Phoenix have a chance. Charleston has zero depth, has 6day lay off, will throw first choice players out there, and plays at home. Tampa is like your crazy sister in law hitting the white Claw. She has more Swings then a playground. Sac- SJ is bad. Here is Sacramento’s chance to rule NoCal. Phoenix- Sounders struggle to score. Phoenix breaks hearts. (Sad battery fan).
Charleston has depth in talent, just light on numbers. When Jackson Conway, Josh Drack, and Jake Lacava are your bench options, your team is pretty stacked
Man, Pittsburgh has really fallen off this year.
Meh, more like just a bad start which happens often with Lilley teams. I think they have already turned it around and we will see a much better performance this Saturday against Tulsa.
If you look at the lineup we rolled out Tuesday, all 11 players were not starters in the previous league game and 6 of those 11 had played no minutes or only a few minutes prior to that this year
6 of the next 8 matches are USL-C vs MLS, with half at home. While I would have loved to see more Championship teams come through this week (and wish at least one League One team had made it through), this next round is shaping up to be a lot of fun!
