UPS marked package as “missing”

Just a warning to anyone located in the Gainesville, GA area. My boyfriend just moved from CA to GA, and we shipped everything through UPS. All of our packages arrived minus the one with his PC/Monitors/Graphics Card box in it. They were packed very safely but the tempered glass panel on the pc was bound to break regardless and we were prepared for that. Big whoop , a broken panel. Anyway, Gainesville got the package and marked it as all items “missing” so they “discarded” the container it was in and never contacted the sender (my boyfriend) about the issue like it said it would. I spent hours and hours on the phone with them . They lied saying it was in the garbage, that they couldn’t retrieve it, that we were shit out of luck basically. I finally got on the phone with a higher up manager who found it pushed into a corner of a room not in the garbage with all the shipping labels ripped off of it and she told us to come get it. The box wasn’t damaged at all,no obvious glass coming out of the box . I’m not sure of the UPS procedure with “defective” items but it seemed very suspicious to us to mark a package as “missing items” when nothing was missing or thrown away. I guess my point is, UPS workers..if you see a pc with a broken glass…don’t toss it because the inner components are what’s important and will still work and replacing a pc case for $200 is cheaper than then the customer having to rebuy $2000 worth of components.

Pic just to show a perfectly working pc UPS tried to throw out.
