Reminder about rule #10 - Progress posts and stats!MOD

Hello everyone,

Last year there were a lot of requests to remove post about progress and stats of streams. Mainly for the reasons that everyone was just posting their stream stats and all other posts were being buried in the sea of pictures. They were proving to be post of either "look at me" or "why no one likes me?" which can be discouraging for possibly the user themselves or others. We held discussions with members of this community and had overwhelming requests to create Rule #10 - No posts about your progress or stats of your stream. Instead please use the Mega thread to highlight the small victories you would like the world to know. Making affiliate or partner is acceptable.

This has been the biggest infraction from newer users of the subreddit and raises a lot of questions. Newer members of this community often feel like they are being targeted by mods as we remove their post as they have seen other post at times also breaking this rule.

The truth is we are enforcing the rules as best as we can, and we are not on here 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We do not target anyone or give exceptions to this rule. We just simply have not seen the post yet to remove it per rule 10 and will be remove it as well. So we ask members to help us enforce the rules by reporting infractions as it helps use to remove posts quicker.

We also ask that if you have not read any of the rules, please do so to make sure your post doesn't get taken down.

Lastly, thanks to all who have joined the Twitch_Startup discord and been a part of the discussion over there as the server has officially become a Discord Partner! Everyone can join as there are links in our description, tab at the top of the page, and here: https://discord.com/invite/twitchstartup

Thank you all for being a part of this subreddit!

Looking for new friends Self Promotion

Hi my name is Breanna but my Twitch name is BreannaxBebe and other social media accounts too. I’m 26 y.o. was mainly streaming Fortnite content but this season is overkill with the cars😐. But I want to play with other people/streamers to have fun and make new friends.

Right now I’m not streaming anything new but I want to stream these new games I bought American truck simulator, Euro truck simulator 2, Taxi Life and games I already stream these games before but I want to get back into it Stardew Valley and Supermarket simulator.

I don’t have a set schedule for streaming since I work a full time job but I usually stream at night on the days I work and for the daytime when I’m off 😊🐝

Let me introduce myselfSelf Promotion

Hello! My name is AargothLive and I'm a Dad to four kids! I worked as a professional Chef for over 10 years before leaving the industry. I stream at pretty late hours after all the kids have gone to bed every tuesday - Saturday. I am insanely proud of how our community has grown, and I am floored by how much support and love we have gotten! We stream World of Tanks 3 times per week, and twice per week we stream something different!

Thanks for taking the time to read this wall of text! Have a wonderful rest of your day and I hope to see you around ❤️

Growth and Ideas?Help

I started streaming I think about a week ago for fun, I am up to 31 followers (most of those are people I know outside of twitch).

I have had some activity but my real question is how important is a created avatar/screen overlay etc. I am currently just using OBS to cast my screen and my webcam but have had a number of people tell me my stream would be so much better with an overlay and logo and I am unsure how important that is? Is it worth the money, should I try it out myself or is it not needed? I am happy to provide a small clip of a stream if that would help? Looking for any advice but also wanting to keep it mostly chill and fun!

Looking to make more friends!Self Promotion

Hey everyone! My name is Jeff (cue 22 Jump Street jokes), I've been streaming on and off for a couple years and have started making a concrete effort. I stream a variety of games, currently Stardew Valley, Marvel's Midnight Suns, and Batman: Arkham Asylum, I'm always looking for new games to play and would love any suggestions.

A bit about me, I'm a proud father of 6 amazing kids, I have ADHD, and I'm a bit quirky (that means weird but charming). On my streams you can expect some good conversation, a bit of rambling, and random outburst of singing.

I stream at least 3 scheduled days a week but may randomly do surprise streams if I have some free time. I would love to make some friends and build an amazing community, hope to see you all soon!

Does my game plan sound okay? Trying to buckle down after way so many years hiatus and think I finally have an idea of how to go about coming back to Twitch. Post got denied on the main Twitch subreddit, so here I am lol.Help

I'm finally in a position to have a bit more time for streaming now that I'm switching to a part time job, which I am super stoked for. Unfortunately I do the YouTube thing as well so I need to make time for that/editing. Right now my channel is kind of a mess since I was on a hiatus for like... 5 or 6 years, I don't recall. Of course I've been researching on all sorts of things like times to play games, schedule, widgets/add ons, but would love input on anything else. Please do not think I am trying to ask for handholding-- I'm wondering if anyone does anything different that may not be common that they think could do some good.

  • Monday and Tuesday stream from 4PM-6PM (if not earlier, and at the latest 6:30PM since my job starts at 7PM) Weds/Thurs dedicated to spending the day with my partner, but I still may do some impromptu streams on those days if he's out of the house/we're doing our own things; I realize that's a short time frame but with working late, I may not be functional in the brain until around 4PM and I figure 2 hours if better than 0 hours
  • Saturday 4PM-9PM if not until 10PM or 12AM, but for sure 9PM at least (unless I am sick and dying/tired)
  • Monday I may play Simulation games and Tuesday survival games, with Saturday being for anything but most likely long story games since I'll have more time to dedicate to it, and possibly art stream then go to long story gaming
  • Need to finish my channel branding since it's non-existent; make a proper banner (is that only on YT?), an intro or while away video, panels
  • Work on fun widgets that I'll have enabled depending on the stream (Stream Avatars for when streaming art, Crowd Control for certain games on certain days, point/bit/dono redeems to slap dumb images on my avatar like hats, mustaches, etc.)
  • Art streams are the only time I will be playing music since I feel it takes away from a game, probably music while AFK as well
  • Fix my bot to have shortcuts; YouTube, Discord, my art commission info, widget/bot info/commands, schedule, not sure what else
  • After each stream, I re-watch and clip as much as I can for my Twitch channel as well as to export to YouTube and Twitch
  • Each stream goes to YouTube and then I edit it down to about 30 minutes or less, and of course I do ask people to follow on Twitch in my video
  • Gotta make a starting soon and proper AFK screen so people aren't like "why is she just sitting with the game open talking and not playing bye"
  • Lastly, actually put the schedule on Twitch in the stream schedule thingy calendar
  • Of course I gotta be entertaining so I do plan to keep that up!

Sorry I know it's a lot of word vomit. Do you have any input to branch off of from what I am doing? Any specific widgets, bots, info, tips on how to pick a game to play (like stream to categories with X viewers or less)? I do plan to play games I like but I'm open to hearing tips on strategically choosing my games that I already own and enjoy.

Thank you if you have anything to add! I'd love to know what successful streamers think and what I can do to refine the streaming experience to ideally also be successful.

Newer streamer looking to build upSelf Promotion

Hey all I go by PapaSlavSquat. 34 years old blue collar father of 2. I stream every Friday and Saturday night with the odd random weeknight(s) 10pm est.

I started streaming about 8months ago super casual as someghing fun to do. I'm always looking to improve my stream and interact with anyone who comes into chat.

I've got about 600hrs in total playing PC but I've been a console gamer since before fps gaming was even a thing.

I started out streaming escape from tarkov but fell in love with the finals (my main content at the moment)

Anyway if you're looking for a new low key streamer to watch on weekends please stop in and say hi check out the finals as I truly feel it's a very underrated game with a lot of great content.

Someone visits me often, but intends to sell me stuffHelp

So I just picked up streaming again after a break and a person asks me if I was interested in graphics. I said sure, thinking they would have a fiveer account. Instead they link me a discord group with 270 members and they have a website, but with no prices. They are being pretty pushy now and visit my stream every time I go live. What are the odds that this person is a scammer?
