why didn't he literally create the world in 7 days?
why wait 100s of millions of years for humans to evolve into being?
if humans are the pinnacle of his creation, why waste so many hundreds of millions of years on other creatures first?

Pretty much this. Billions of years in relation to eternity is the exact same as a billion of something compared to an infinite set of numbers. It's a huge thing to us as humans, but a very small drop in an unimaginably large ocean in the grand scheme of things.
You can't rush art. The fact he put so much time into meticulously creating life and the earth into what it is now shows he truly does care for it.

No other theory has been this successful at explaining nature and making predictions. It's the combined work of hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people and thus millions of years of accumulative work.
He didn't set evolution in motion. He created man and all organism.

Because that is required by the text.
Where does it say so?
It is required by the genre. The genre is historical text. There is nothing in the text to suggest that it is not literal. In fact, after each day it states, "And there was evening and there was morning, the second day (then the third day, the fourth day, etc.). How much plainer can the text make it that these are literal 24-hour days? And since God can do anything, is there is no reason to believe that he didn't create in six literal days.

I have always wondered if something was lost in translation as far as the timeline goes there. 🤔 At the end of the day, it doesn't make me much difference.
Christ still died and rose again, so yeah it doesn't make much of a difference.
I'm totally ok with evolution being a thing, and the universe being billions of years old.
Our Lord said that a thousand years is like a day for God, and a day like a thousand years.
So it would make sense that the God of creation, who created physics in the first place, would allow that mechanism to play out.
The chances of life existing on this planet are so infinitesimally small, that the sheer amount of coincidences that have to happen one after the other are a next to impossible probability.
That to me tells me that there was some intelligent design at work, setting things in motion perfectly so that we could come into existence.
Now, on the topic of Genesis and the creation story:
Imagine trying to explain to someone who has never even seen another planet before to write down that the earth and heavens were created over billions and billions of years. You're going to make his head explode.
To me, seven days sounds like a lot more of a manageable story to explain to someone who doesn't even know how to do multiplication.
The fact that the earth's age may in fact be billions of years old doesn't change the fact that Christ rose from the grave...

Firstly however old this thing is - is speculative and unfortunately you have people groups who don't always help in seeking the truth. Secondly, why not ask Yahweh? A year to the father is said to be like a day for us so there's that. Perhaps there's a reason for it - something very maths related or why do you put a pizza in the oven for however long you do? Well to do it properly. It could be the process of purification with freewill takes that long. We don't know.

I think we agree. Trying to mesh what the world says with the bible doesn't work. You can't serve two masters.

God created everything we see in 6 days. He is Almighty God! Evolution for it to work, takes millions of years. What do you suppose the science of bacteria would be to explain how they got in the Petri dish? Because they refused to believe they were plopped in there by a man they cannot see?

You are making the assumption that He did not create it in 7 days. Did you know that for over a thousand years, the geocentric theory ruled supreme, even to punishing opposition? Yet, they were wrong. What makes us so smart that our modern theory is infallible now?
Truth is, it does not agree with the Bible. There was no death pre fall of man. Thus, evolution, which depends on death, could not have worked. The Bible was literal, too. Please see 2 Peter 3.

First off, time is only a construct. We get caught up in as humans. But God does not. Second, evolution at the species scale is a theory with holes everywhere. So are carbon dating methods. But even if the earth is “old”, and God caused evolutionary changes, it changes nothing. Creation still needs a creator. God is the uncaused cause, whereas in Atheism nothing is.

Simple, he didn’t wait billions or millions of years to create mankind, he did literally create the entire universe in 6 days, and then rest on the 7th, creating the Sabbath, while I believe that microevolution is true, macroevolution above the family level isn’t.
I wasn’t there on day of creation but who’s to say that God didn’t create an earth that already had years put into it? God did create a full grown man. Adam didn’t have a childhood.
I don’t believe in evolution as there is no real evidence of it. Evolution exists as a way to remove creation.

I'd wager it's because God is particular about efficient use of his power. Think about it: when 120,000 Moabites came to attack Israel, God used a slight tweak to the Moabites' morale that allowed Gideon to trick them and whittle their numbers down to 15,000. And when evil men wiped out most of Gideon's family, all God had to do was sow a few seeds of conflict, and the villains ultimately destroyed each other.
Electrons always settle to their lowest stable energy configuration. Water always settles to the lowest point. Electricity always finds the shortest path.
God is efficient, even with his own power.
So if evolution is true, I wouldn't be surprised by it. It seems rather in-character for him to use the minimum necessary power to achieve his ends.
