That's what I'm wondering, driver cams would catch em right away I think...
It occurs to me this guy could just be lying about that part.
Bit of a weird thing to lie about
People have lied about weirder stuff. Maybe he reckons if people think even truck drivers are using his services they will be more open to using it as well...?
Owner opporators i assume.
I mean in the shipping industry, this happens in most ports around the world...
Wait... they drive you over the bridge for you? That's insane
Welcome to pansy ass amerika
This shit is crazy. My biggest fear as a driver is going off the side of a bridge. But, you know, I just keep both hands on the wheel and drive over the bridge. Should I be sucking my thumb as I cross? Maybe I'm doing something wrong by not having a mental breakdown.
I've been in worse conditions in a white out blizzard. Not being able to see the semi truck in front of you is more scary than driving over a bridge
I was in snow in Oregon last week that was so thick I had a hard time telling if I was moving. Speedometer said thirty mph. All I could see was flakes and the shoulder line. After about five seconds I started feeling really disoriented and dizzy.
My last whiteout blizzard was in West Michigan. It was so bad I could barely see the tail lights of the semi truck in front of me. I was in the right lane doing the speed limit with the semi while idiots in the unplowed left lane blazed past us blowing slush at the side, making things worse
My last white out I was going west out of Pennsylvania cars and trucks in the ditches left and right. I had to stop to get the build up of snow off my windshield. I was trying to get to Ohio before Pennsylvania shut the roads down. I had a car trying to pass me they were riding the center line I said to myself they're going to wreck. They get to the back of the trailer and I see them swerving. I'm praying they don't hit my truck and boom they hit the median instead. I was one of the last few to make it through the white out before the roads got shut down.
Glad I'm not the only one. In heavy snow it really does feel like you're not moving and your brain is just like "uhhhh, somethings wrong" and makes you feel so fucking discombobulated
I mean we don't function equally. Some people are just way more afraid than others. While your fear doesn't limit your ability to go through it in this context for others it can and will.
Whats wild is while you can cross large bridges fine you may jump at the mere presence of a bee or a spider while someone who's too scared to cross the same large bridges may not react at all to a bee or a spider.
Your mind is very powerful in how things appear and what it fears.
Mods please approve this I know my karma is low.
People freak out about the bay bridge in Baltimore. I don’t get what the issue is. It’s beautiful. Not great when windy. But I drive this in my rig every day mostly.
These guys that charge to drive you over make good money haha
I can't believe this is real...
I have friends that are not truckers that use this. One thing about it is there is NO way over across to Kent island unless you take the bridge or go like 3 hours out of your way. People absolutely pay the money. You don’t even have to really schedule it, you just stop at the inspection stations before the bridge and someone will be there to take you across
It's Real...
$40-50 just to cross a bridge, JFC lol.
He probably did a Google search for "how much do escorts charge" and thought that it was a bargain price.
If you drive the Chesapeake bay bridge everyday you know it’s not in Baltimore.
The fuck is this dumb comment....
If people don't feel confident enough to do it then why force them? Let them pay some one. As long as it's safer, fine.
Sure we can absolutely talk shit because I know personally I've faced dangerous situations as a driver but not everyone can do that.
4 wheelers sure, but imo any trucker too afraid to drive over a bridge is in the wrong line of work
What about 9% switchbacks with a mile and a half fall? No guard rails.
I have a crippling fear of high overpasses and big bridges. But for whatever reason it doesn't bother me in a rig. My personal vehicle on the other hand, I'll keep these mfers on speed dial, 😂
Look, if someone has a fear it's good for them to face it but if your fear is crossing a bridge in a car that fear can cause you to make a bad decision.
So if you have a company with good drivers willing to help others out safely without judgment then I am all for it.
My fear was downhill in the winter. My bigger fear was being broke.
There was a point when they were doing work on the Verrazano bridge and there was no fence on the side of the bridge and inn a truck all you could see was the water a few hundred feet below. I wasn't ever scared but it was definitely freaky.
Damn that's some scary shit
That bridge is stupid high for no reason tho. Definitely not cool when you’re loaded light on a windy day
I drove this bridge. It is a little nerve wrecking your first time in a semi. But it’s fun. And I’m afraid of heights.
There are several phobias at play when going over a bridge. The fact that you feel that people should be shamed for using a safer service is pretty fucked up dude. If it's safer and it doesn't effect you then sut up and stop being a fucking snowflake!
Bay Bridge sucks. It looks like it was built with spare parts and since giant liners need to pass under it, it is really high. Also it is a favorite spot for jumpers so it is frequently shut down for suicide recovery.
Oh and for shits and giggles, twice a day, they open lanes so that your have oncoming traffic in the next lane. The Bay Bridge SUCKS!
Does not compute.
What
Wait. This is Chesapeake Bay Bridge? 186 Ft? And people are scared of it?
One of my favorite trips is going over the Sunshine Skyway, and that’s 190ft.
I’ll chill in the left lane though for safety, but it’s a fun ride.
I will take 1000 Bridges in heavy fog over a Friday afternoon in Atlanta. I can't bash people for having phobias, but it's kind of a strange career choice to be a driver if you are scared of bridges. It's not the big tall one, but the poorly maintained ones out in the middle of nowhere you need to worry about anyhow.
I'd love to drive over that bridge
I've seen a similar thing in the oilpatch. We had a couple of steep dugways that took you up out of the canyon to where the drilling was taking place. These rig moving companies from Oklahoma or Texas would get to the bottom of the dugway, look at it, and bail. So they brought out a couple of local guys to drive the trucks up and down the dugway.
This bridge really sucks in the summer and on holiday weekends. It's not uncommon for it to take a half hour to get across during peak hours. I was in stop and go traffic pulling a travel trailer on labor day weekend and it felt like an eternity. If they made the barriers just a couple feet taller it would feel much safer.
More context? Where is this bridge and what the fuck is going on 🤣🤣
I may use it to get some shut eyes haha.

Okay, passenger cars fair enough. But how are semi truck drivers getting away with this? Even if this guy has a full cdl, wouldn't there be major insurance issues with some stranger jumping in your truck and driving it for you? I'm not even allowed to carry passengers without special permission.
