Should I trade in my 2018 Corolla for a 2023 Tacoma? 🤔🤔🤔

What's your use case?
- Do you regularly need to tow trailers behind your vehicle?
- Do you simply need to haul a lot of stuff in a truck bed?
- Do you often take your vehicle onto unpaved roads in poor condition that require high clearance?
- Do you wish you had AWD or even 4WD?
- Do you find yourself wishing you had a better ride height among a sea of lifted trucks and big SUVs?
The Tacoma is a great, reliable vehicle, but it may or may not be the right fit for you. You'd be sacrificing a LOT of good gas mileage to go from a Corolla or almost any other Toyota vehicle to a non-hybrid Tacoma, although I'm sure you're already aware of that.
Other models might also work for you depending on your use case (see the above corresponding questions) that also might be more affordable in terms of purchase price and gas cost:
- Most of Toyota's SUV lineup can tow as much as a Tacoma can
- You'd be surprised at how much you can cram into a hatchback (Corolla, Prius) or crossover (Corolla Cross, RAV4) with the seats laid down—and even more in your typical SUV (Highlander, 4Runner)
- The RAV4 has comparable ground clearance and an available Off-Road trim
- A majority of Toyota models can be had with AWD now
- The Corolla Cross has a bit higher ride height than a Corolla Sedan or Hatchback
Wow! Thank you for the great amount of detail! Definitely more time to consider this
