Can't paste friend codes?

I can't seem to be able to paste anything in the friend code textfield.

I'm trying to use Pokeraid to do some remote raids, which copies the friend code of the raid host to the clipboard.

Normally you just paste the code and you're good to go, but I have to manually look up the host's friendcode, type/write it somewhere else first and then type it again in pogo (while everyone in the room is waiting for me wondering what's the hold up).

I also can't type half of the code, tab to the other app to look at the code again and go back, because then all of the input will be emptied.

I'm on a Samsung Galaxy S8 on Android 9. I've already tried switching keyboards, but it won't work in Swiftkey nor the default Samsung keyboard. I am first tapping on the text field so the keyboard pops up, long pressing in the text field, and I get the selection handles, but the paste option won't appear whatever I try.

Is there any workaround for this?
