White Sunshade

Looking for recommendations for a sunshade for my 24 M3, in white.

Normally I’d just go OEM but I just don’t like the black with the white headliner.

For those using one, does it help enough to justify? Living in AZ it’s getting warm. Window tint is later this week but need to get the heat off the head too.

Interested in M3 from etron. Need insight?

Hi all! I'm considering moving on from my current 2019 Audi etron to a 2024 m3P or LR, and can really use the prospective from existing M3 owners. What do you like about owning a Tesla? Are there things you don't like?

For context, I absolutely hate my etron. The ride is awful (very bubbly and lose), services are still $400-$500 yearly, the range (205) is abysmal, charging outside of Tesla stations is severely lacking in my area (California Central Valley), and the depreciation has been insane.

Appreciate any insight!

When buying from a private seller, should I have the car inspected by a mechanic or would a self-inspection suffice?

Should I have a mechanic check the cars brakes, motor, etc. or would my own inspection of how the car feels and sounds be fine?

Upgrading ‘22 Model 3 LT to have Highland seats / performance brakes?

Long shot, but has anyone heard of or had success with upgrading a pre-Highland M3LR to have its cooling seats and the performance model brakes?

I LOVE my 22 M3LR so the Highland isn’t an upgrade enough to warrant a trade-in, but I’d certainly like to have the seats and the brakes.

2024 M3LR 2500 mile report

Nice Fremont car, no issues, big improvement over the previous generation

Average efficiency with 60% City and 40% highway - 248 Wh/Mi since new.

I just completed a 900 mile trip. Average efficiency driving at 75mph between 272 Wh/mi and 304Wh/mi. I don't have a lead foot.

Lessons learned – The car is optimal if you use it in the city and charge it from your garage home power. I pay 12 cents per kWh at home. The average superchargers (150KW/250KW) were .40 cents per kWh during the trip ( 3 ½ times more than charging at home)

Doing the math, I could have driven my Acura RDX (25mpg) on the same trip and paid (900mi/25mpg) = 36 x an average $3.40 = $122.40

I paid about $80 in supercharger costs. So, the Tesla on a roadtrip is about 30% cheaper to run but costs a little more time to charge.

I use abetterrouteplanner.com and set the default Wh/Mi to 305 and this gives a very close estimate for supercharger stops, the Tesla planner uses a different Wh/Mi and its recommended recharge points are not as good IMHO

How some people are reporting ~200 Wh/Mi is beyond me how you could do that. I primarily will use the car for the city and trips within a 125 radius of home. If I have a long roadtrip, I will use the RDX or rent a car, last resort, take the Tesla.

It is a great car and well engineered, but I find it more useful for the city.

YMMV

China M3P 2024 charging rates

Been reading the new m3p china version with the LG battery takes significantly longer to high speed charge than the panasonic/USA one. Anyone got the chance to actually test this out yet?

What kind of tires yall recommend first time changing tires since I brought my M3

Good deal? 2023 M3 for 27k

Hey everyone. I’m taking this deal and want to know if I got a good one seems like it. It’s a 2023 model 3 standard with 16k miles on it for 27k out the door price. Nothing wrong with it and clean car.

Not a bad deal for a car that was 42k less than a year ago.

What happens when you pop a 20” wheel on your Performance on a Pothole? Costs?

When you have a 20in wheel for a Model 3 Performance or any other Tesla, you pop a tire on a pothole, what do you do? Pull off to the side and call Tesla mobile service or get it towed somewhere? How much does it cost?

If Tesla mobile fixes it do they put any random tire on it or do you have choice to replace it with a specific tire that is better than what it came with?

Trying to understand how big of a hassle it is to deal with this sort of thing and what to expect.
