Human life/health is the most important thing.
Polla lot of people saying strongly agree do not actually live in a way that aligns with that statement
Not trying to lower emissions is leading to environmental consequences, which causes death. We all have to do our part.
even more extreme than that. if we valued human life and flourishing over all else, we would sell everything non-essential to life in order to provide for those more needy than us. and there's always someone more needy than you, so you would do everything you could to help them until you're down to their level.
That's neither reasonable nor effective. You can't have everyone sell all non-essential possessions, because if we all rejected everything that wasn't essential to life in order to help others, then we wouldn't find any buyers for the possessions we're selling.
In addition, having access to things non-essential to life, such as tools for a successful education, would in the long run allow someone to do more good than the short term extra money to charity. If you spend, for example, a bunch of money on getting into a good college so you can get a high-paying job, and then donate a considerable portion of your wages to those more needy, that would end up being more money than selling the laptop and school supplies you bought for college and giving away your tuition as well. But that's just one example.
