You can do this just about every where just be warned NPC can destroy objects in their walking path
To go around this, I consult Stardew Wiki for NPC paths and map it out with crafted paths so that I'll be reminded not to put anything in their way 😅
A very good tip indeed specially when you buy something or make something to place only to have a NPC destroy it
