![This was left at my moms house for a couple years and it turned yellow đź’€](https://preview.redd.it/pf8ix3ardl9d1.jpeg?auto=webp&s=60d2e7f69b2fe78133c2cbf977c3fd65527a69e0)
I didn’t leave it in the sun but she might’ve, I have a handful of others that didn’t change color

Mirror verse vibes
For sure. Couple of red highlights and you have a fine warship to fight for the emperor.
Looks like you left her at Utopia Planitia for too long, they started recolouring the ship
Worf- "That wasn't my fault!"
Honestly I don’t hate the look. Very artistic yellowing
I have the same problem with the same Nemesis Enterprise E. Turned yellow where it got direct sunlight for a few months. Only on one side. Looks really ugly now.
I found this video on how to get it back to white. But I have not tried rotrobrightening it yet. I would love to see your results if you try it.
Yea the underside is normal colored, so I assume it sat in the sun
Was she a smoker? That looks similar to nicotine stains.
She’s not and my other ships are undamaged, the bottom side is also normal so I assume it just sat on top of storage for a while
This is really up to the plastic batch used- you could have two of the same item in same circumstances, made from different batch’s at same producer- one will turn color, and one won’t.
This can be reversed with a bath of water and hydrogen peroxide placed in the sun. There are instructions that can be found online.
Doesn't that lose detail though?
It should not effect paint, but it can effect decals. There’s different methods for restoration.
Sometimes white and grey plastic just yellows, old Super Nintendo systems are often super yellow because of a defect in the plastic.
No that's not nicotine stains. Nicotine stains look different. This is just aging plastic. Could have been UV yellowing the plastic. I mean, it sucks, but OP should just let it go. Simply never leave stuff out like model kits out of your supervision. I live in Taiwan, I had one of my Enterprise Ds yellow in the bright lights of an office over a single summer.
She just threw it all in a box when I wasn’t there, everything was stored nicely and out of the sun, my Enterprise D was actually on display out in the open and did not turn yellow
You can't expect anybody even your parents to understand what you cherish, even my parents threw away some collector's items and rarities. I'm just glad your other things are okay. I had to start my spaceship collection from scratch again.
Remember how Captain Freeman said she didn't want the Cerritos coming out of dock looking like a Sovereign?
That Sovereign captain had the opposite opinion.
No, you actually have a sovereign variant! Congratulations!!
Could always paint it gold and keep it as one of “your little ships”
This is a great idea, OP! Try one of the solutions here and if it doesn't work, paint it gold. When people ask why, make them watch First Contact. Lol
Terran Empire gold.
Stellar cartography missions have their own dangers.
Look up how to do Retrobright. Clear that right back to normal.
This causes more issues long term I've heard...
Yeah, so people do not know how to property prepare, and use hair dye.
It's not going to happen without removing details and the paint. I've been down this path.
A reminder to baryon sweep your starships regularly.
Look up using UV lights and hydrogen peroxide to reverse it on YouTube.
UV light discolors some plastics... you may be able to lift it with hydrogen peroxide -- the hair bleach kind not the first aid kind
That’s the ISS Enterprise-E.
Thankfully she's undamaged.
100% this is UV damage. Some plastic are very different formulations. UV sunlight will breakdown parts of the exposed layers. Some plastics prevent this by adding or changing the formulation, others don’t. Like the old PC white cases back in the day, most turned yellow due to UV damage or just simple expose. Looking at the light that window is bringing in, I bet it lived its life staring up at the sun/stars, dreaming of being….out there.
I got a set of bricks, they got a slight yellow from being in the sun. After putting in a almost dark place and leaving it there for 3 years returning the yellow stain is now about 15 times stronger looks like 30 year old plastic
Btw I think I got the same model was sitting in the sun for about 4 years got a less strong yellowish stain but similar. It’s only on the side where the sun was pointing directly at only left yellow right is pretty grey. Underside is normal. Has been sitting 5 years or longer in indirect sunlight with the belly. I think it’s only discolouring in strong sunlight
you can fix this with a small low temp torch.
It's from the Transformers wiki, but it's a good article on the subject: https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Photodegradation
I almost wish we saw this kinda thing in the movies/shows. It would be cool to see a ship go in a nebula or gas cloud or something and come out with some substance stuck to parts of the hull.
Literally looks like her paint got stripped. It reminds me of a bare metal Sukhoi.
Look at this as an opportunity. Go to an art store, buy some metallic model paints. Various shades of silver, plus whatever other colors. Some tiny detail brushes. Then sit, and make this into the best damn Enterprise-E you’ve ever seen.
Unless you are worried about ruining it. If so I understand.
Yellow alert
It turned strange yellow colour!
Pretty sure I have the same one and it's also turned yellow
not a bad look ngl
Was this something you built or bought. If bought what brand and where did you get it? Looking for that exact scale and model.
This is by Diamond select toys
