Hey all, I'm back with another issue regarding my Klipperized SV06.
The other day, the part that connects the timing belt to the y-axis motor broke. Sovol customer support hasn't been very responsive or helpful with this situation so far, and I can't find a good guide or replacement part. Any suggestions?
Found a replacement for $12, worth it to not have to go back and forth with Sovol 😂
If you are going with the fast klipper route you could get a bigger motor to get more speed. I did make a motor bracket on printables that can take a full sized 48mm motor.
Gt2 pulley just count the teeth anda buy one equal
The part is called "pulley", but I don't know which size it is.
The pulley is mounted to the shaft. The shaft broke. They need a new motor. The pulley is fine.
Oh, maybe I need to clean my glasses 🤓
That’s what I was afraid of… ðŸ˜
Their customer support sucks , my first sv06 has been awesome until recently. I got my 1st one early last year with no issues until now . My 2nd was horrible . Electronics were great but put together very poorly . I tried telling them what the issues were every time and what parts I needed but they kept coming up with wrong solutions . I swear their tech team doesn’t know squat . I fixed my 2nd one all on my own but my first one is having g issues with extruded motor and they are telling me my retraction speed is too fast to turn it down . Which is bs be up my other one works fine same settings . So I ordered a new extruder and will be fixing my issue on my own . Svo6 is a great starter printer but when these 2 give up I doubt I’ll be going sovol again unless they clean up their act lol . Honestly I’ll probably upgrade these stepper motors and they should be pretty solid printers after that
Support does suck. I’m trying to get started with a SV04. I send an email and there’s no way to track it. I’m using Facebook and they have a wiki that they’re still working on.
That is kind of crazy that you're having that issue because I just got mine brand new Saturday with there firmware on it but it came with a bent Y stepper motor honestly I'm probably just going to swap it out because from what I've heard they're warranty ain't worth a crap and it usually takes them ended periods of time to do anything I tried to put Clipper on my sv06 Plus but for some reason I cannot get it to allow me to set the Z height every time I get close I get an ADC out of range error so I'm not sure what's going on do you have any issues like that if possible please let me know what config file you use for your sovall SVO 6 Plus so I can use the same one because I cannot get it to level the Z height.
I will be returning this printer Amazon can have it back it's been a complete let down and lie. Nothing is close to what was advertised the power supply is known to catch fire, the bed is bent, 1 stepper is bent and it can't reliably probe its own bed, linear bearings are a joke.
Had same problems with z calibration on my sv07. Turned out to be overtightened wheels on the z axis, and the retention spring being too tight. When i loosened the wheels on both sides z axis so that they moved when i tried to rotate them, not too hard but not too easy either, it worked. Been working since.
Also had to tighten the filament extruder gears.
Before i loosened up and retightened correctly, it took the probe sometimes 20 tried and fail before calibration. Now it usually z calibrates in 2-4 passes.
Edit: sv06 might not have wheels though it seems? This might not be applicable.
Are you monitoring your MCU temperature on the mainsail dashboard?
Yes I was actually watching it and seeing it go from a normal reading to A negative 405° reading and that's what was shutting down Clipper it wasn't the Z offset I had already had the minimum Z put in there it was the fact that the soval main board doesn't have the best ground and the inductive probe sends weird readings to the board. Normally high-end brands will do a lot of research and development as well as use quality boards to stop those issues but this being a budget printer explains kind of why it has some issues. After removing the MCU temperature everything has worked out really well I still have some adjustments and tuning to do but I was able to do my first couple prints
I was however very disappointed in the quality that they were shipping their printers with especially knowing that the support is non-existent I was kind of under the impression that soval was a brand of creality
Their quality control is horrible for sure. But what gave you the idea they were a Creality brand?
Even their soval boards are rebranded creality boards and it's been brought up several times even they have on their website that creality makes everything for them I was just thinking it was a sister company also if you look at all their printers they're all creality style printers if anyone else would have sold printers with creality boards in them they would have had the crap suit out of them and been blacklisted all over the internet I honestly thought it was kind of like Toyota who owns Lexus and that is their premium brand kind of thing maybe I'm wrong
Oh I see. I think their whole thing is that they're supposed to be upgraded versions of what Creality sells. Like for example the SV06 is basically supposed to be an upgraded Ender 3 for a reasonable price or some people call it a budget Prusa Mk3. And now that you mention they actually buy a lot of their parts from Creality I can definitely see why you'd think that, makes sense
they’ve literally shipped replacement parts in creality branded packaging
This is inevitable with too high belt tension.
