Rejected slogans for coffee companies
Starbucks: “get your diabetes in a cup”
I only drink black coffee and I cannot stand their black coffee. Tastes like burnt buttholes.
Ok, hear me out here. Good coffee comes in small quantities, from well defined areas. When you try to become a McDonald's of coffee, you throw that out the window and replace it with taste consistency across the globe. When you're trying to achieve the same taste across 38.000 stores, with an average daily consumption of only 3kg/store globally, you're looking at 114 tonnes of beans needed daily, or 41610 tonnes annually.
That's post roast weight, equating to about 49932 tonnes of green coffee annually.
They roast the crap out of their coffee, as the darker the roast, the less particular flavors you can taste & use the cheapest quality beans.
On top of this, their roaster to the coffee shop route takes way too long, if you look at the grinders hopper, you'll see the beans are covered in the essential oils meant to be inside.
Starbucks is a brand, and has nothing to do with coffee.
I despise McDonalds for so many reasons, and won't eat there. But there coffee is really fing good.
