Not to be one of those masses of people who are like "dang, I ain't making any money," but..... Weirdly my market has just crashed even though I have a 100 reviews and am at $19 per drop-in and walk. I don't get it!

I've also been thrown around the rankings for who knows what since Rover won't tell anyone how their ranking system works. Wtf is the point of that? Now there's one or two people with 20 or less reviews that pop up before me and then the one person in my area with 300+ reviews sits on top forever.

Last year I made $10k doing drop-ins and walks only, we're about halfway through this year and I've made like $2k. I've also noticed dozens of walkers/drop in folks have dropped their prices, now our median is under $18! And this is for an extremely expensive area in the US.

It's so frustrating that this is the best pet care gig app, when it treats sitters so incredibly poorly and encourages owners to shop for the cheapest and also doesn't value the safety of animals (ex: they don't do anything if you report owners with unlisted animals, they don't do anything if you report owners leaving their dog crated for 23 hours a day, they don't do anything if you report dangerous living conditions, they don't do anything for.... Basically any situation ever lol).

Thank God I have a good list of off app clients because this is whack. Anyone have any good stories about starting their own pet care business?
