Mans had a whole ass apartment in prison and gets turned into some little side character once he got out. What kind of writing is that?
Power has always emasculated the father figure brah don't yall see the propaganda I mean I love this shit coz niggaz don't got any shows But it's some bullshit Raq smoked kanan's pops right in front of him 😂😂
Howard also preyed on a teenager. Dude isn't exactly the most upstanding father figure.
Still Raq Emasculated Howard but what she did To Lou Lou was the worst she literally grabbed Lou by grabbing his head and yelled repeatedly ninja I own you I own you and everybody though that scene was so great I spoke up about it and got downvoted I'm just tired watching black men be emasculated that's why I love Kanan he stood up to Raq unlike uncle marvin
I said the same thing about the Lou Lou scene. They'll let the mothers slide but are dead set on killing the fathers legacy. It ruins the writing. Either have the father be soft from the beginning and make it make sense or keep him strong all the way through. Having Lorenzo run the shots in S2 to him being yelled at by Monet and treated worthless S3 ep. 1 was crazy.
Nah chill, Raq a G, that’s why that scene was great. Like if Monet tried to do that shit to Cane or to Lorenzo it would not have been seen as great because Monet is no lioness. Raq is a lioness to her core, and she run shit like a lioness, so when she roars you can feel that shit because she’s real af. Even when she’s in the wrong she still a G all the way to her soul.
I get you though there are many male characters being emasculated too much in the media, and a lot of it happened in the power series too, but Raq is on her own level and should be judged on that level. When she’s tearing any one apart it’s more about power and hierarchy than about just emasculating guys in her path. Lou is no Lion, neither is Marvin. That’s why she can punk them, because they know what she is and they’re not. Only Kanan can stand against her, because that mf’er a whole other beast at the end of the day. Every other dude is just pure fodder for Raq, they literally stand no chance against a real ass G like her.
Thats why omari hardwick left right? He didnt like the message the end of OG power was presenting? The whole sons kill their fathers bit, kind of a trash narrative to push out there to black people😭
That’s one of my biggest gripes . I blame Courtney kemp too much PC feminist agenda BS
Dude, there's BMF, the Chi, and Snowfall which just ended. There is no shortage of other shows reminding society of black people acting like thugs.
We need way more[Postive themes] you just named power alternatives. We need more black shows that don't portray negative stereotypes my boy
I totally agree 💯. And shows like the new Good Times does nothing but further embarrass us as a people . It's too bad that our lowest common denominator controls our public narrative.
POWER needs a spike lee rendition
That’s just what’s hot. People like these stories. Nobody really wants positive image tv like yall say.
Yeah man. Big fan of all the shows, but You’re not wrong.
That’s more spill over from Courtney Kemp! All that feminist “I don’t need no man” shit. I bet you a million dollars (of Nona’s money 😁) if Raina was older than Tariq and yes I know they’re TWINS numbnuts just hear me out we’d be watching her and some female Tommy counterpart doing dumb shit every week instead.
Ngl the bad writing atp is kinda on purpose coz wtf brah Copy and paste shit on the powerbooks
He just wanted to be with family at that point, don’t even think he cared all too much about the life as he was planning retirement and giving drugs the keys even before he went in. But mo wanted it still, just like tasha
To be fair he was a big fish in a small pond in prison. It’s a confined environment lol the streets always have a struggle for power
