I purchased a CPO Boxster S a few months ago from a Porsche dealership. I also have a 986 and haven't experienced this, so just sanity checking before I waste a 2hr drive to the dealership.

After driving as the car should be driven, the car smells "hot" and honestly the back of the car feels noticeably warm when you step out. Engine oil temps are normal and I'm not talking about track driving by any means. I live near a good amount of mountain roads and mostly keep it in manual mode w/ the PDK for a number of shifts above 6k RPMs, etc. I always go to the normal drive mode a couple of miles before I get home to try and let the temps come down and I do a proper warm-up. Oil temps are rarely above 210F and I try to bring it in and shut down around 200F.

This is normal right? Or worth a trip to the dealer to make sure something wasn't spilled on the engine, etc. Its most often all over a 20 mile loop that I take just to enjoy the drive. Anything I should think about in driving habit changes?

Thanks in advance.
