One of the main corporate sponsors for GForest is Century Pacific Food, Inc. This is the company behind Argentina, Century Tuna, 555, Ligo, Swift, unMeat, and other brands. They are also the local distributor of Vita Coco, a US-based coconut water brand.

• They have direct business interests in "Coconut OEM Export" as stated on their website portfolio.

• In 2022, they invested Php700 million to expand their coconut manufacturing facility in Mindanao, where coincidentally GForest also planted most of their coconut trees.

• In 2023, they published a PR showcasing how GForest helped plant 1 million coconut trees for smallholder farmers in Mindanao. They left out the part where those same smallholder farmers also supply Century Pacific with raw coconut products.

• In 2024, Century Pacific earmarked a further Php2.2 billion to boost coconut water production in Mindanao which they will then export to The Vita Coco Company in the United States.

Yep, all of this stinks to high heaven.

Maraming choices na trees sa gforest at mindanao needs Coconut tree coz it have moree benefits from trees and fruit, like coco lumber and buco juice 

GForest partnered with the Department of Agriculture so malamang naman may guidance sila kung ano ang dapat itanim at kung saan. Maybe they planted those coconut trees for a different project or reasons. Marami din naman makukuha sa coconut trees.

Madami naman benefits si coconut tsaka source den sya ng buko juice, virgin coconut oil at iba pa.

Unfortunately, not a rare occurrence. A lot of reforestation programs had been, money making schemes, poorly researched/implemented.

Reminds me of that time on Abor Day, the DENR Tarlac distributed mahogany seedlings that were considered invasive here.

The man made Mahogany forest in Bohol is a solid example.

Honestly, I did believe in Gcash’s vision where they want everyone to have easy access sa app, yung isang sample talaga is yung fisherman na nag benta ng huli niya at pinambayad sakanya is via Gcash. And I personally witnessed this nung 2020ish - 2021ish where si kuyang sorbetero eh nag titinda at gcash ang payment. I mean daman, may pa QR si kuya lupet.

Kaso walang corpo na for the people ang project at walang agenda behind it, everyone gets a piece of the pie cherry on top lang na nakakatulong sila sa environment, sa community, or sa mamayang pilipino.

Kaya ideal yung crop rotation na ginagawa in manors during the Middle Ages in Europe, kasi nare-replenish daw ang nutrients sa soil. Unlike sa monoculture, parang nai-spent yung lupa, leaving it infertile after seasons upon seasons of planting the same crops.

Another reason why I really stopped using Gcash as my main ewallet. And don't get me fucking started for how unstable yung app nila.

I mostly use maya, gotyme, and even ownbank recently. But also those three have better benefits compared kay gcash imo.

Question ko sa mga nagwowork sa gcash dito or any company na nagkeclaim na green sila pero halata naman na hindi ano pakiramdam na nagwowork sa ganyang company? Also sa mga nagwowork sa Villar group of companies na galit na galit sa trapo at lang grabber pero pinapayaman nyu yung pamilya nila?

Dinedefend nyu ba sila sa mga gantong posts? Or dedma na lang kasi sila rin source of income nyu? Genuine question to, may experience kasi ako nung nagwowork ako then nalaman ko yung mga di makatao na practices ng kumpanya di kinakaya ng konsensya ko kaya umalis agad ako.

Para ma comply nila ang pag ng unused rebates. Just like 7-11. 🤡
