Ideas for raised bed?

Move it to where it is on top of the dirt.

My raised beds have produced the some of the best quality of vegetables I’ve ever planted. It’s taken me 5 years to get my layers right. Here are my layers (starting from lowest to the ground to the surface of my plants

1. Wet Colourless newspaper (worms and good bacteria will attract to your bed
2. 1 inch diameter 2 year seasoned logs (nitrogen and phosphorus sources)
3. Light layer of mixed seasoned dry fall leaves
4. Thick layer of sheep manure from only grass fed sheep
5. Sprinkled layer of ash from my outdoor camp fire
6. Triple mix soil (mix or natural fertilizer, peat moss, and top soil)
7. Food scraps mashed in a blender spread close the seeded areas
8. A blend of bone meal and egg meal sprinkled on top
9. 2 inch layer top soil
10. Damp hay lightly spread over top of raised bed.

This might be a bit overkill, but if you have the means on your homestead, your plants will appreciate your preparations and give you some wonderful fruits and vegetables. Happy gardening! :)

Don't put in blueberries. They like a very specific acidic soil that the other plants on your list won't enjoy. Strawberries make a great covercrop and then intersperse things like beets.

Filling a raised bed full of wood, then burying that wood in soil is not hugelkultur and can rob your soil of nitrogen for years. I'd remove the wood, personally.

A hugelkulture is supposed to be essentially a compost pile with a wood base as the carbonaceous material, covered with highly nitrogenous inputs on top to help the wood break down. Soil is already broken down. Wood needs nitrogen to break down. The wood will pull the nitrogen out of your soil l, immobilizing the nitrogen so that it isn't available to the plants growing in it.

Setting aside the wood issue, I like growing rhubarb under grapes, personally.

I'm a bit confused that you placed the raised bed on a concrete slab. How are the worms going to climb in the bed?
