Anybody know rules and regs for living in park housing with an ESA or Service Dog?
Would you say a trailer pad would be the safest bet for someone with an ESA
Probably, but again, they can be even more than just regular housing. SEKI for example was $450 a paycheck along the same lines with Yellowstone or Grand Teton. Whilst housing can be the same or less. I got dumb lucky on mine and only pay a little over $200 per paycheck with my own unit. With trailer you’re also looking at the loan if you take one out and the maintenance, so I’d honestly keep scouting out for a park that is able to accommodate or find a place outside the park like a room for rent. Each park is different though. Now Perm is a different story as they usually have their own place anyway and allowed
That’s good to know bc for some reason I thought trailer pad would be cheaper
You would think so, right? But no. Not sure if all but some parks update their housing prices as well so I think it was also my timing, but there are other employees paying twice as much and share a room, as in bedroom. I’m paying just half that per paycheck with my own space. But you do want to make sure you have an ESA letter from a specialist.
Thank you so so much
Ok cool thanks! I’m not sure if I’ll need one/to what extent, but I think the esa route will be better for me
Service animals yes, ESA it depends on the park but a lot of people have already tried that and dragged the perception of ESA's through the mud over the last few years so that will probably be a tougher sell
Yeah which is a bummer for ppl who could actually benefit from them fr
Service, yes. ESA, depends on park housing. Some can’t accommodate if say they’re out of single occupant units, otherwise would need a trailer pad with can be even more expensive than a shared unit. I had to turn down a few parks due to this, but found a catch with my top favorite pick, with my ESA, unit size, and price.
