What are the Packs needed to play Modern Warfare Campaign as of December 2021.

I recently got the Modern Warfare disc. I haven't actually played the campaign yet just Warzone.

But after installing the disc and downloading the entire game again, it turns out I still needed to download separate packs to play MW's Campaign, MP, and Coop because the disc will download Warzone instead.

But now even with Packs installed I still can't play the Campaign it only says 'Installation Suspended'. There are 6 packs to choose from and I already downloaded the packs that says needed to play Campaign.

The ones in ** are already downloaded and installed. They are the only ones that says needed for campaign but it still says Installation Suspended.

So do I need to download the other packs as well just to play campaign? I don't have the fastest internet so I don't want to waste time downloading unnecessary packs.

Also, am I missing some packs? I've seen an older video where there were more than 6 (way more) packs to choose from, Like Data Pack 1, Data Pack 2, Campaign Pack 1, Campaign Pack 2, etc. I would like to assume that they have updated it that's why there are only 6 Packs now.

This just happened to me. I literally had the same two packs as you downloaded and it wouldn’t work. I then downloaded all the packs and it worked, talk about some dumb horse shit 🤦‍♂️🙄

Yep... And the fact that you can't play the MW Campaign alone without downloading Warzone first is fucking stupid. A 6hour ish game for 200 GB is just 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

You dont need warzone to play it dumbass. ALL u need is campaign pack 1 and 2, Campaign Pack and i think u need campaign and special ops pack. You dont need warzone and I know cos i own and play the damn game

yeah. Its the same for mw and mwii and all the packs r free. In mw just purchase the FREE packs from the game and in mwii the packs r included in the game already also for FREE. You wont be charged for the packs. Enjoy the game

Right now. Have campaign 1 and 2 and special ops and it’s just starting to download yet another file that’s just campaign. Did you need to download the multiplayer packs to get it to work?

You dont need any multiplayer packs to play the campaign. You only need the packs that have the word campaign in the name.

I'm coming into the same problem, I think. I'm am totally new to all of this gaming stuff. Was never a gamer as a kid. I got my ps4 and bought a used mw, and it's downloading atm. I don't have ps4 plus ? Will I need that to play Campaign atm while it's downloading? I can only play multiple players. Thanks for all and any help.

I’m actually having this same exact issue at the very moment! I live on the outskirts of the city and our internet has been absolutely HORRIBLE and it’s taken me 5-6 days just to get everything downloaded and installed… 🤦🏻‍♂️

We are getting fiber lines ran down our road FINALLY, so I’m VERY EXCITED about that!

But as far as I know from what I’ve read ALL packs have to be downloaded and installed…

Makes me so angry because it’s the dumbest f*king thing I’ve ever seen to have to do all this sht just to play the campaign!

Whatever happened to putting in the game and not running updates and still getting to play everything except the online stuff!? That’s all I want to play is the campaign mode! I don’t give a sh*t about Warzone or multiplayer!

Anyways, I’m still about 3 packa away from getting to play it, but NOTHING seems like it would be so good to have to go through this crap, but who cares about the consumer anymore!?

The ONLY devs that actually care enough to ale great content and they listen to their fanbase and give SO MUCH are the indie developers! They’re making some of the absolute BEST games ever and the tripple A games can’t touch some of the amazing things the indie communities are doing!

For anyone who's looking for the answer in 2023, I just installed it, and here are the packs I downloaded for the campaign (I don't play multiplayer):

>Campaign pack 1 and 2 (when you initially launch install from PlayStation store)
>Then in the game - The campaign pack (top most one) and campaign and special ops compatibility pack

Make sure to go to manage add-ons for the game in your ps5 and install all downloaded add ons. For some reason some of them needs manual installation.

I’m playing now (aug 2023) and there’s only one that’s called campaign pack, no “campaign pack 2”. I’ve got: -campaign pack -multiplayer pack -Multiplayer pack 2 -special ops pack -campaign/special ops compatibility pack -multiplayer/special ops compatibility pack -warzone caldera pack 1 -warzone caldera pack 2

According to the details next to each pack, you only need campaign and the special ops campaign compatibility pack to play the campaign. I’m hoping that’s true. This is the 2nd night I’ve tried to play this. Got another couple hours to wait. In the meantime I’ll probably get into another game and forget about this one 😂.

Yes, as it turns out you actually need 5 of the 6 packs for the campaign to work. The only pack you don't need if you just want the campaign is the Multiplayer Pack 2

This happened to me a couple of days ago. You can try right clicking on the cod application and then go to game content i think its called. You may see some more there, but ultimately the way i got it to work was completely uninstalling the game and starting again, but i appreciate thats a lot of extra time

Yeah I really don't wanna download again considering how large the file is. Kinda annoying that it doesn't give you a choice not to download the entire Warzone pack when in fact the sole purpose I got the disc was to play the Campaign

Someone in a thread from yesterday posted a fix for PS4. Apparently the packs can say "INSTALLED" and they are not really installed for PS4... and can also uninstall themselves after updating other packs. Horrible.

Late, but, Leaving this comment here for anyone that might be searching the Internet for solutions…..

I had to restore my PS4 licenses to allow me to even download World War II game again.

What’s bizarre is I deleted this game a couple years ago and although it’s still in my library it’s forcing me to download the modern warfare campaign and all the multiplayer packs as others have suggested here.

This was supposed to be the last of the old school games that were not tied into the war zone mandatory packages. WTF.

Was listed as a 48GB game. Now it’s over 100 with all the crazy WZ packs mandatory to download.

You need to go use offline mode and have downloaded the appropriate data packs I just found this last night on my ps4 perhaps there is a similar fix on your platform

If you downloaded from the store then you don't need the disc. If you installed using disc then you need the disc to play

Very late to this, but had the exact same issue. What’s worse is I downloaded all of the packs that came with the game when I bought it, only for it to tell me I needed to download the remastered versions instead when I actually got into the game menu. This has taken so much time that I’m not sure it’s even worth it at this point, and I’d ask for a refund if I thought I’d actually get it. All the dancing around downloading this and downloading that and making an account when I never had to before, all to play a campaign that’ll take me less than a day to complete? The company has lost sight of what it’s consumers want. This isn’t accessible at all.

Exact thing happened to me today on my PS5. Downloaded the campaign packs after buying the game, only find out I need to download the remastered shit in game. This is the most frustrating I've ever been about a game.

I'm going through this same shit. I just want to play the campaign and that's it! I have shitty internet so just downloading the required 70gb day one patch took 2-3 days. Then finally hoping on the main menu it's telling me to now download the fucking remastered edition add-ons. It deleted the original add-ons from my drive to create room for these remastered ones. Dude......I don't think this game is worth my time anymore.

You just tap it, and then it sends you to the store of whatever platform you are using to download it for free (as far as I am aware) it worked for me on PS4

I’m having the same problem, currently downloading all packs accept the war zone ones because fuck that, I bought this game because I wanted cod, not warzone, then had to do a 20 hour download for the warzone update even though I don’t want it, now I just downloaded the campaign pack and it said installation suspended so I’ve wasted a good 26 hours on this horse shit, now I’m waiting for all the campaign, multiplayer and spec ops ones to load and if it doesn’t work after that so help me god my ps4 is going through a window, whoever decided to ruin the base game with warzone instead of just making it it’s own separate game is a fool, I had this game a while back on my old ps4 and I remember just popping it in, doing one download and then playing, why the fuck isn’t it that simple anymore

I got my Xbox a year or two ago second hand, and one of the reasons was it came with MW (I went the entire Xbox one generation not owning one thanks yo being dirt poor). Problem was I didn't have an unlimited internet connect so I just put in the corner to gather dust. 2 days ago I finally got some decent speed internet, and part of the reason was to play this.....I put the disc in and it tells me Ive gotta DL the whole game. So I spend the night doing that. Kids are finally asleep so I go to play it ...oh, I need to spend 1 hr and half DLing the 10GB campaign pack....do that, and it gives me no option to play campaign just says not installed. I google it and it turns out it's a cache issue so I fuck around turning my Xbox off and unplugging cord. Now it says it's installed but I still can't play the campaign, and absolutely no info as to why....it'll let me buy MW2 though....at this point I don't even know what the fuck warzone is, if I am even trying to play MW 1 or MW2...finally after google again I find this sub....so now I gotta wait another 3 hrs for another 20GB data pack. In what fucking world is this a logical process to play a game. I might aswell just go buy the original trilogy on 360 and throw this piece of shit in the trash. I was contemplating getting MW2 after finishing this, but I honestly don't know if I can be fucked....let alone touching another cod game

I'm just down with COD. There is nothing easy to install just the campaign only. You have to jump through hoops to figure it out. Then add ridiculous update sizes. And they only made two 4 player co-op campaign games. Such a disappointment for me.

Just give me a military campaign shooter for console that is better than COD and is an online co-op campaign up to 4 players. With continuous mission DLCs added on for years No raids. No looter shooter. No dungeons. No grinding. No upgrading.

It doesn't even TELL you what to download, it just punts you straight to the store page for MW3? This is just malicious. There can be no other explanation for this!

I just installed the disc version on ps5 and I can't even download the packs from the store. It just says store unavailable. I checked the PlayStation store as well but cannot find any packs related to the game.

This is frustrating.

Your disc and psn account might be by from different regions. Like your psn account is R1 (US) and your disc is R2 (EU)

If it is, you need to create a psn account that matches your disc region and download the packs from there.

Never in my life had such a difficulty starting to play a PS disc game... COD MW 2019 is a complete mess.. but somehow I managed to get it working on my PS5..

Here is what happened and how I got it working

- I am from India and I purchased this game just to play the Campaign and go for the
Platinum, I purchased the disc in one of the used games selling website.

- As soon as I inserted the disc there were 2 installs (Disc copy install and another one was a 70GB update install) once both installation was done I started the game and then tried running the Campaign which said I need to install the Campaign pack, but when I try to install the campaign pack there was an error which said "Store is Unavailable" I was like WTF and restarted the console, deleted and reinstalled the game again but the issue remained the same.

- Thanks to Google & Reddit I realised I had got a R2 region disc which is UAE locked and I would need to create a UAE region PSN account which I did and again had to redo the above process and this time all the Packs which needed to be installed showed up.

- I installed the Campaign Pack and then tried installing Campaign/Special Ops Compatibility Pack which got stuck at 30% for over an hour, I got frustrated and deleted the entire game and started new installation right from the beginning and this time thank god all those packs got installed and I was able to start the Campaign finally

below are the Packs which I installed in my PS5 to get the Campaign to start.

- Campaign Pack - Installed

- Campaign/Special Ops Compatibility Pack - Installed

- Warzone Caldera Pack 1 - Installed (just 10mb update)

- Warzone Caldera Pack 2 - Installed (just 10mb update)

- Multiplayer Pack 2 - Not Installed
