Solo overnight trip to Enchanted Valley in Olympic National Park. This place is desperately stunning.
I did not see any bears personally however there were a few running around the valley earlier in the day apparently. Some other backpackers mentioned this to me as I was hiking in.
What campsite(s) did you get? I have a trip coming up but couldn't get a site at enchanted valley.
I grabbed a permit for enchanted valley and that’s where I camped. You might be seeing the effects from the new enchanted valley permitting rules put in place this week.
Where did you find the permit? I can't find the site or it on recreation.gov. is it a walk up day of permit at the station?
I booked my permit on recreation.gov. Enchanted Valley is under the Quinault area.
Thank you! Got a spot for my trip next week
There are some sites past the valley that are normally available
Very cool, did you make it up Anderson pass?
I didn’t make it up that far however I did run into a guy going that way.
Anderson glacier is a must see
Went last weekend and loved it! Great trail with a beautiful payoff.
I appreciate the slug picture
I’ve never been there but surprised there’s no snow!
How many bears did you see?
