That means you can use it for shielding a teammate trying to get to cover, but that's a pretty fringe case. Far more often it's about blocking stuff like Ana cooldowns, Hog hook, DVa ult, whatever it may be, or lethal instances of damage when needed. And in every case that's ALWAYS priority to yourself.

And since you have downtime between your shots, natural cover is super good with Sig, so he's kinda right about that at least.

Statbanana has free top down maps, I'm told krita is good for moving sprites around etc.

Your placements are based on two things only:

How many games you win and lose (both of you 5-9), and EITHER:

Your pre-existing rank/mmr from previous seasons (including OW1 if applicable), OR

Your quickplay mmr.

So in your case, if it's the first ever set of placements for both of you on those accs, then yes it must be due to variance in your quickplay mmr.

Nothing I can think of except that it'll also match you against just normal PC players and PC-only parties - it's not only crossplay parties. It does opt you out of console matchmaking though.

Might depend on your rank but this isn't a popular thing at all for me.

The way you accept it is by also pressing stay as group in the bottom right. But I think it's far more common to just add people after the game.

Does Illari work in rush comps (ie Illari + Lucio)?

Not really no, you can kinda get away with it in ranked especially on KOTH and on defence because you can flexibly reposition pylon and carry through damage and picks. But the comp doesn't work at a high level and especially struggles on attack since you can't throw pylon forwards aggressively to help take space as a team reliably. Illari is a slow pokey hero with very limited healing and no aoe healing, and Lucio needs to force fast close range fights, so they have antisynergy.

Does Illari work in brawl comps (ie Illari + Bap)?

Yes, this is a great pairing. You're stacking (poke) damage from the backline, which is amazing synergy, and Bap can support aggression and tempo much better via aoe healing, unlimited M2, shift, lamp, etc.

Something like Orisa is much better here than Rein since you lack a Lucio for speed.

It's very oppressive on KOTH and defence, strong in attack, but lacks the flexibility and the options given to you by Lucio, so in OWL it has been uncommon, only one team tried to stick with this backline and it didn't work out too well for them. If enemy team has Lucio and you don't, you lose the choice to engage and disengage freely since their whole team is just faster than yours. Plus beat is a much better ult than captive sun in organised play.

They've done it two different ways. Don't worry though your progress "counts" either way.

1 is adjusting your final rank at the end of the season based on your outstanding wins and losses

2 is when you finish your next set in the new season, factoring in your outstanding wins and losses from the previous season.

Not sure what the first question means but generally more wins than losses means you'll rank up and vice versa. So if you get five wins and six or more losses you'll probably derank.

And no, performance has no effect, it's purely w/l.

Keep a distance to her is the first and biggest thing. Dying to Zarya as a support is usually really troll.

Secondly, take note of when she's punishable and hard focus her.

It's a huge mistake to always respect her bubbles, but until gm people just never shoot them so instead of being the only one shooting them it's often best to just wait till they're down and focus her with eg Bap damage, Zen damage and discord, Illari damage, Ana nade, etc.

Even better if you make callouts like "Zarya no bubbles, discorded" etc.

Both abilities will block the dagger and send it back to JQ’s hand immediately. Genji can’t deflect the damage onto JQ’s teammates though.

He's not generally going to be your main nade target, but you can get high value nades on him in some situations:

1 - When he overextends (e.g., uses both his mobility cooldowns) and is punishable

2 - When he's on top of you and you can nade both of you to refill your hp and anti him at the same time -- don't do this before you've taken damage.

3 - When you've slept him, he doesn't have ult, and he's killable

Outside of those times, I can't think of many times you'd want to nade doom other than the obvious (he's last alive or something) - generally nading his backline is going to be more effective as he will be using his mobility to get in and out, and using his mitigation to survive follow-up damage.

I think it is but it’s context specific. Even in my metal ranks games a lot of teams recognize it’s better for the team of 4 to move up and keep up pressure with someone as payload princess rather than let the team come to you and stop progress sooner, because the enemy team moves much faster than the payload with a 33% speed boost regardless. If the team can sustain the fight without losing for even just 10 seconds you get more payload distance that way. And the team can sustain that much more easily with 4 players than with 2/3.

Again, context specific. If the enemy team is staggering, or the spawn is nearby and you can force engagement early, or there’s a choke point you can block (or a choke point for your team you would want to avoid fighting from, like after you capture the payload in Eichenwalde) then it’s worth it to move up. If later on in the map the enemy has a lot of different ways to come at you, high ground options, it may be better to hang back so the fight is taken before that point. Or double down and move up a lot IF the team can survive without one player. But generally being aggressive can be a good play.

Being 100% honest and it pains me to say this, but the hero is a healbot. You've noticed it gets worse the higher you go and that's completely true. Rak is the owl player who plays the most LW and he almost never goes for damage.

You can damage when you need to, for pre-fight poke or for a duel or to survive, especially when in close range (he's kinda like Mercy in this sense), but the delay when swapping back to healing, plus the fact you'll build tree (your main wincon) slower than healbotting players means it's just not optimal in his current state.

That sounds like a lot but is also frankly kinda meaningless, I wouldn't worry about it.

All I can say is I literally never disconnect so the issue is on your end somewhere even if it's specific to OW.

Maybe, but also endorsements get infinitely rarer the higher you rank up. Somewhere around diamond ish people just stop endorsing in general.

People also tend to endorse eg their teammate playing Mercy and rezzing them rather than their teammate carrying the game on Torb or something. They're pretty meaningless.

There are some, such as this  and this . (These seem to be a little outdated by now. These must take a lot of effort to create and new heroes are released every now and then.)

However, don't take these like they are some god-given truths. They can help, but whenever these are posted on subreddits and other places, they always spark some conversation and disagreement. Counters aren't necessarily always completely objective, as ability interactions can be very complex and different people may put different emphasis on different interactions. Player skill also has an effect. For example, these charts say that Pharah counters Junkrat and Junkrat is countered by Pharah, but a really skilled Junkrat player will consistently obliterate a poor Pharah player.

It can be helpful to think critically why certain heroes counter certain heroes. That might make these charts feel less "ugh I just have to memorize all this". As you play the game, think about the different ability and weapon interactions you have encountered and may encounter based on your hero and the enemy heroes. If you think about them consciously, you'll start to get an intuitive hang of it sooner than you realize!

Yeah about 3-4 is a good enough pool for beginner to advanced.

It won't really affect difficulty, in the sense that the chance of having a smurf on your team and getting a free win is only slightly lower than having one on the enemy team and getting a free loss, while getting a thrower on the enemy team is slightly more likely than getting one on your own team. It may be more random though, if there are more smurfs and throwers in bronze, which seems somewhat likely.

Either way, if you're better than bronze then you'll climb. Ten games a week will make it slow though, that's the real problem. Assuming low game quality means a couple of those ten will be mostly out of your hands due to throwers or smurfs, you're only giving yourself a few games to climb with per week. Wins are worth about 25 SR and bronze is 1500 SR wide, so you could need 60 net wins to climb through bronze. That could take many weeks, since a 60% win rate over ten games will equate to 2 net wins per week only (6W-4L).

Mei has a pretty weak primary fire and a decent but not outstanding secondary fire. So why pick her?

Answer: Walls. One of the best utility tools in the entire game, especially against lower mobility enemies, which happen to be very common right now.

Other than looking for impactful walls, you'll generally spend a lot of time spamming your icicles at head height and waiting for a wall opportunity. Once you've walled an enemy, her primary is good as it slows + damage.

You don't want to cryo if you don't have to since it takes you out of the fight and is punishable - but it's basically a tool that allows you to play fairly frontline compared to most dps. You can wall someone, use primary, use cryo to survive, rinse and repeat.

Her ult is best in coordination with her wall to prevent them escaping. You'll often use it on point, and you can also use cryo if you need to while they freeze, or you can use your primary to help slow them and freeze them faster. Once they're frozen, headshot icicle to kill them. Only thing you really have to worry about is DVa's matrix, Orisa spin, to a lesser extent Sigma grasp, and cleanse abilities like suzu and fade.

Nerves. Call down play for fun. It’s basically muscle memory that takes a while to progress

Not sure what exactly you've tried but XQ9XQ is IMO the closest to real movement.

Nothing beats "real" practice though really.

Maybe DVa? She's probably the best tank if you only wanted to learn 1.

I'd suggest just playing them all and seeing what you enjoy though.

If it's genuinely a 3v1 you should be losing. So your priority first and foremost is to ensure you're not getting too isolated.

Second priority is to force out flankers ASAP, e.g., if you see Echo in the distance, landing a shot or two on her will deter her from joining the dive. Nading yourself and Sombra will force her out more quickly.

Against a full dive team like that, there will be no shortage of opportunities to use your cooldowns, so instead of throwing them out at every potential opportunity, you should be quite greedy with them and save them for optimal value.

E.g., if you throw out nade onto their supports, that seems fine, but now if the dive comes through and you have no nade, you might get punished hard.

So wait till you take damage to nade yourself + an enemy ideally. Doom will constantly try to bait sleep out so you're looking for either power block, or predictable movement, or just whenever you really need to hit the sleep (eg he slams in front of you and starts charging punch towards you - that's an example of predictable movement AND an instance where you're pretty much forced to use it). The other main time is when he ults, if you press sleep just about as he lands in his ult, it should hit him as the invincibility frames wear off.

This whole time while being dived, you should try to land shots. They have no reason to stop diving you unless they die or take too much damage to stay.

Other general positioning tips as Ana - you want to be towards the back of your team but NOT isolated and playing from neptune against a dive team. They have the mobility to get to you anyway so there is no reason to play super far back. Ideally position near teammates but also near cover and/or corners you can use, and bonus points for health packs too. High ground is nice since they will often need to use an extra cooldown to reach you, and dropping off high ground can help to juke them out. Finally, know where your other support is, keep line of sight to them, and press I need healing as soon as the dive comes through.

That's basically how that matchup is meant to work - you have a very lopsided matchup in your favour against them at range, and they have a lopsided matchup in their favour up close.

Your options are either to play for that range advantage by 1) shooting them at range to deter them from diving you/find picks on them and 2) continually rotate away from them as they look to close the gap (Soldier is great for this) and 3) punish those attempts to close the gap if possible, e.g., by headshotting Reaper out of tp, or pre-aiming corners they might walk around, and 4) use your cooldowns/peel/health packs etc to win the duel once they close the gap - even if the matchup is lopsided it's still very winnable if you hit your shots.

Or

To swap to a less "greedy" pick - something more flexible that has less one-sided matchups and doesn't require as much enabling.

I kinda doubt it, he has been nerfed twice recently already, and has a negative winrate plus a much lower pick rate than his main competition (Ana). You never know though. If they were balancing solely off gm and pro play then maybe.

Overtime is triggered based on the time since the attackers last touched, 3 seconds to be exact. I couldnt find the exact tickrate for FP but since it is a bit faster than KOTH, I think ~95, maybe 94% should still be safe.

Oh and make sure you see the gem sign and "connected" below the video player, that's how you know it's working.

I have noticed that it's a tiny bit inconsistent with Reaper ult for some reason where you won't necessarily eat 100% of Death Blossom, I've theorised it may be because he bodyblocks the DM, but I'm not fully sure.

Yes it does - it grows with charge up to 0.1m, which is the same size as Illari's M1. I'm not sure if there are other hitscan examples unless you include the beam heroes like Sym, Zarya and Moira, who all have even bigger hitbox radii. All the obvious examples (Cass, Ashe, Soldier, Widow, etc.) have the same minimum size.

No, that's usually not a mistake. They're known as "tempo" abilities because you can use them to shift the tempo/momentum of a fight. So ideally, you use them to go from playing on the backfoot to playing aggressively.

Sometimes you will just have to sustain through e.g., lamp though. E.g., if a shatter comes through and everyone but you is on the ground, you're not gonna meaningfully punish the enemy team 1v5, so you're priority is using lamp to minimise how many people die.

Yes, almost all are expected to deal damage.

Zen mostly focuses on damage,

Illari mostly focuses on damage,

Moira mostly healing but can do a lot of damage through a match

Same for Bap

Ana slightly more healing focused but can still duel and do decent damage, same for Kiri

Brig mostly heals, but it's BY doing damage

Lucio can damage while healing so should always be doing damage

And LW and Mercy are mostly healing/utility focused, although even Mercy can boost others' damage.

I don't believe it has any direct effect on your open queue rank, no. Playing in higher ranked and better coordinated lobbies could indirectly help you to improve faster and rank up though.

For the most part you just sound really rusty. Some people found the transition from 1 to 2 to affect their mechanics more than others. Personally I barely noticed a difference, but others found it weird for a while. The solution in both cases was to just adjust sensitivity as needed and grind until it felt good again. That answers the part about Widow and Cass. I would say that the game has sped up a lot in some ways, and so a hero like Widow can have a tougher time than before in some cases.

For tank, again depending on who you ask the role has barely changed/changed a lot. Personally I think if you played mostly main tanks in OW1 then it's basically the same playstyle (Rein, Winston, Orisa, etc.) - with only one tank, keeping a consistent presence for your team to play around is more important than before. Meanwhile if you played mostly off tanks like DVa and Zarya, I think the playstyle may need more adaptation as you no longer have that other tank to enable and play around - you need to be the initiator etc now. That's a big part of why heroes like Ball aren't doing so well - they have relatively high downtime and that can lead to your team getting run over in a 5v4 quickly. But for the most part, all the same fundamentals apply - just be wary that as a solo tank you're gonna take the brunt of most of the shit the enemy team throws at you. Outplaying that is a large part of your impact right now and it's why e.g., Orisa is considered strong, since she's tanky enough to deal with it.

Could really be anything. When I get masters tanks they don't usually have great stats but some common problems include:

1 Trying to do too much - this could be your problem since you might be getting tons of resources allowing you to put up numbers, but the other team can then punish you for being down on those resources. E.g., you go in as Rein, your Bap lamps you, their Doom dives your Bap and he dies. Scoreboard says you killed two and did most damage but you lose fight because no Bap because he was forced to use everything on you because you didn't play cover effectively or whatever.

2 Kinda similar but awareness and lane control. This is something I found while playing in masters on tank - I would sometimes know there was eg a Genji on the flank and ignore it to 1v4 because I expected my 4 teammates to be able to handle a Genji. But they use all their braincells on the one Genji and I end up overextended/forgotten about and die. End result is maybe I kill one or two but get no help and die. Top of scoreboard, lost fight.

So the correct play from me would be to slow down and clear angles/lanes before taking space. I don't necessarily need to turn and peel every time, just recognise when attention and resources are being pulled away from me.

3 cooldown usage. This is absolutely huge but like, there is no stat for stopping dynamite from destroying your team or eating Illari ult as DVa, but those are two of her biggest ways to create value. Pretty much all dm usage is not on the leaderboard besides the big funny mit number.

On Winston, bubble usage. On Rein, shield usage. On JQ, shout usage, etc.

4 similar pitfalls to other roles but like, if you play JQ you're basically just a dps with tank hp, so getting huge damage and low deaths isn't impressive or valuable if you're just hard focusing their tank. Landing a knife on a Cass is generally much more impactful than landing one on a Rein.

There are tons of things like this and a lot depends on your hero etc. but those are some examples.

Honestly this meta is a write-off but in general, the best heroes for aim clips are Widow, Genji, Tracer in that order and then any hitscan really, so Soldier, Cass, Ashe. Also Hanzo.

Mostly positioning and awareness. Knowing where she is and how to break line of sight to her/use vertical cover is important. Saving your cooldowns for self peel if needed too (Ana nade, Kiri cleanse/tp, Bap shift, etc.)

On PC Ana is the easiest to kill her/Mercy with, idk if it's the same on console. Otherwise consider Bap or Illari who can also pressure her at least, or something like Lucio or Kiri and just avoiding her for the most part. Mercy also an option if you have a hitscan or Echo.

Ranged hero. I’m mid masters so take my advice how you’d like. When I play against a sym I like to use soldier or Ashe or even cree. She has to close the distance on you or use her secondary from a distance. If you play mid ranged she wont peek you and your team can pressure her. Keep her turret count in mind when destroyed and listen for them. Use chokes that she can’t defend well with turrets. Don’t be predictable and use the same choke, use off angles and positioning to your advantage.

I have over 250 hours on Genji win rate around 55%. Widow with any sort of pocket especially a good one is gonna kill you every time you or escape almost every time you try to engage her. Each charged head shot is 300 damage and a full charge body shot is like 150. If you just dive her you’re a genji, everyone wants you dead because of the potential damage you can deal. Use your corners, your mobility and your abilities. She knows you’re gonna deflect. Use that to your advantage. Make her feel uncomfortable and attack her when she’s not paying attention to you. Force her to constantly change positions and feel like she has to watch her back. Poke with your primary, close the distance using cover and once close you should either feel comfortable to do enough damage to kill her with a few secondary hits and a dash or force her to reposition. If your team is decent they will assist you with the problematic widow. Remember that just because you don’t kill her it’s not a total loss. You’re applying pressure and a skittish widow isn’t as effective for her team. Don’t dash unless you feel like you can kill her. Save your dash for an escape in case she has help or escapes. Don’t chase her, play smart and when she has infra sight it’s 15 seconds DONT PEEK! Once again mid masters Here, highest I’ve been is 3900 Sr. Hope this helps, good luck.

Imo it’s more about the fundamentals for me. He’s just like every other T500 player but at the same time he’s not. When he’s teaches I feel like he’s speaking to you rather than at you. If that makes sense.

Check your settings and make sure they feel good. ADS speed really makes a difference. Play around with them and it’ll help other than training. Also when ADS try to predict your targets move. Aim a little to the left or right of them. Predict the obvious, if they strafe predict the way the are going. You shouldn’t shoot at them if they are moving constantly Like genji or tracer. If genji double jumps he’s vulnerable in the air. Predict where he’s gonna land and that’s where you want your reticle to be.

I'd say Bap. He's the most versatile of those, fits the "main healer" criteria, is more meta/patch-proof than the others, etc.

But I'd also say if you're a noob it really doesn't matter much and you should just play whatever you enjoy most in general.

Play with your team. A "good" position where you can't do anything isn't a good position, and letting your team die because they're playing like morons is still letting your team die. Dead team = fight lost.

You existed as a support, that's the new meta

You've gotten a thorough answer but i wanted to re-emphasize that Zarya has no verticality, so on maps with lots of platforms you can easily go up, maybe she follows you, drop down, go back up.

If you stay alive and keep doing your job at a basic level, you're gonna win the game since you're taking their tank out of the fight.

At the most basic level, if they (whoever it might be), move forward, then you should move back. If you notice the Zarya going for you and you start moving back early, it'll take quite a while for them to get to you. They should be taking massive damage in this time just walking through your whole team.

More important though, especially if they have Lucio and you don't, is where you set up initially - Zarya sucks at accessing high ground, so can you still get value from there? If so, she literally can't reach you.

As Kiri, you have wallclimb to access hg, and you should also pretty much always have an escape tp in mind. Between wallclimb, effective (longer distance tps) and suzu, you shouldn't really ever be vulnerable to getting run down by a Zarya.

Last small thing, note that if you really have to run, holding W is slightly faster than holding S, so consider if it's worth it to fully turn around and run away sometimes.

Last thing is damage and effective cooldown usage. If the Zarya was able to chase you down and then once again chase you after tp, then a big problem is that she wasn't getting punished for it. You can't force your team to do more damage so consider how you can better protect yourself, whether that's just by focusing the Zarya with headshot kunai or saving sleep for her, etc.

One where you felt you played well but still lost, ideally.

How am I supposed to be using DM on Dva?

You could literally write a book on this. At a basic level, look to eat big impact abilities which include many of the things you said but a ton more, especially Ana cooldowns, but also Ashe dynamite, etc.

Secondly, use it to pocket people actively taking a duel or in danger of dying. Whether that's because they're playing aggressively or because they're getting dived or just caught out in the open, it doesn't matter.

Third you can use it to get you and teammates through spam corridors safely.

Fourth you can use it to win duels. You can use micromissiles at the same time as dm. So e.g., 1v1ing a soldier with mm and dm is very strong.

Fifth you can use it to eat heals from Ana and others, this is especially useful against feeding tanks.

And sixth you can obviously track ults like pulse bomb, Mei blizzard, Zarya grav etc. and look to predict/react and eat them.

In a nutshell, everything about dva's kit pushes her towards being an opportunist, so it's about using boosters + dm to enable/deny wherever will get the most value.

what's the consensus on practicing heroes in competitive?

There isn't one. Personally I think qp is the place to learn new heroes. Others think qp isn't real practice. I disagree and personally improved a ton playing lots of qp and know many others who have done the same. But like I said, there's no consensus.

Orisa is a good counter, her spin eats his fire strikes and can (but not always) push his charge off course, fortify blocks his charge and stops shatter (just for her, doesn’t block others, but Jen you can isolate him or eat his fire strikes and hammer with spin to prevent follow up), spear blocks his charge. They can both bring his shield down relatively ok, Zarya better, but Orisa can counter his other abilities better (for example you can bubble off a rein charge but only if you hit the bubble before he touches you AND the bubble hasn’t expired before he slams you against a wall, a smart rein will get you in the open and against a far away wall to prevent that).

Take your pick honestly. Ball has the most lopsided matchup in my opinion (Rein is great when your team plays straight in front of him, Rein sucks when you take lots of angles and when you pressure his backline, Ball excels at both of those), but Orisa is probably next best. DVa can out manoeuvre him, eat every fire strike and has great shield pressure, Winston (or Doom) fills a similar niche to Ball just less extreme, and JQ can win a brawl if you manage her cooldowns effectively.

Kiri is always viable but she has a high skill ceiling, she depends on quick reaction times and unless you just want to healbot it’s worth practicing aim with kunai at headshot level. She won’t be as oppressive as Hanzo or any other real DPS for the most part but it can be very valuable to spam kunai for headshots against squishies and land occasional elims or force retreats. All a long way of saying it’s worth practicing her because she definitely can be useful at any rank

Ana would probably be best to learn since she's barely ever a bad pick, and pairs well with Kiri.

Alternatively Bap (also pairs pretty well but less flexible), and then another tier down I'd put

Moira, LW, Lucio, Zen, Illari.

Situations where Kiri just doesn't work are pretty rare though - she's almost always playable if you know how to adapt. I made another comment earlier today about what those adaptations can look like, you can check my comment history of interested in that.

Imo you’re on your way to one element of the solution that a lot of teams still struggle with is not instinctively giving her two bubbles of charge. Next thing you have do so is bait bubbles and then switch targets.

When I play as her the teams that do well against me doing that tend to spread out so I am having trouble beaming more than one target, and am just chasing people down trying to find value. Similar to Orisa, don’t shoot the horse, target her backlines. I was having trouble against an Orisa and Junk and her team on Colisseo when they were just chasing my team all over the place, normally I love playing into them since their projectiles are super easy to predict and bubble but my team was spread so thin I couldn’t get in range or around the corner to project bubble. They eventually switched to Winston who also successfully avoided being around me. It was an impressive full dive.

Their Moira orbs didn’t give me charge and their zen discord was honestly pretty oppressive when my failed bubbles would stop. Their DPS were later Ashe and Sojourn who had no problem headshotting me between bubbles (Soj’s orb is easy bubble charge but she wasn’t giving it to me) or chasing down my teammates, switching to me when I would bubble teammates and vice versa. As /u/longswordd stated below, soft dives to bait out bubbles then immediately focus someone else (including Zarya) so it’s wasted.

Also Bastioj is a good counter, find her out of position and just burst through her bubble. Even if she has two bubbles ready for you, 3-4 seconds of LOS to bastion and she’s dead.

Rein is a decent counter too, shield means you can get close and actually block beam and protect your team from her grenades, and while she can bubble his pin, if the bubble expires before he hits a wall (meaning he aimed for a far wall) it doesn’t matter. Surprisingly solid defense against her while your team hopefully focuses her supports.

You use your resources in a way that the enemy zarya will have to use her bubbles.
For example, you can soft dive someone as winston or dva, and force the zarya to use her bubble on him.
You can also just burn people through bubbles with enough focus fire.
It's very specific, there is no one thing that you can do, you need to analyze every situation and come up with a solution on your own. You can do so after the game is over with vods, and or with a coach.

I don't know about "easy", but the two main ways are:

1 - most popular at the moment is just massive damage like Bastion to burst through pylon healing. You could swap this out for something like Hanzo or Widow too.

2 - an alternative is playing flankers like Tracer who can whittle down resources like pylon. At the moment there are too many resources to burn through as Tracer for her to be meta, but it can work well if they're just playing Illari and not running the full anti-Tracer comp with Orisa, Bap, Bastion, etc.

XQ9XQ should work well for Zarya.

Genji typically has lower damage numbers, it's not a problem, just focus on what you have to do to win.

And this is a separate point, but when you're poking squishies and forcing peel "they get pocketed immediately", that is exactly what pressure is. That's two people reacting to your pressure. That's two people no longer with their full attention on the frontline fight. That's two fewer people keeping your tank in check. Etc.

You take the other flank, that's mostly all there is to it. If he then tries to dive you he's completely wasting his time.

Then default to diving his backline. If he's punishable then obviously kill him, and he's a good pulse target when he doesn't have ult, but for the most part you're playing to exploit his poor peel.

I'm not a tracer main, but maybe just annoy the DF and hold his attention?

If he's busy dealing with you on a flank route, that means his team doesnt have a tank and yr team shld easily roll the rest of the enemy.

On attack just go for his supports haha, Doom can't disengage like a ball so he relies semi-heavily on supps to be aggressive

His storm arrows also ricochet off walls so thats probably what happened

Yes, he's basically identical to a hero. I can't think of any big exceptions, just stuff like echo copy won't work on him. But (almost?) all status effects do.
